Better Days

Disciple of Prayer
Lord I come to you tonight I pray ### stop being mean to me and always yelling at me. Lord I’m tired of walking on eggshells. Lord I pray everyone around me start respecting me and stop being mean to me all the time.

We hear your cry for peace and respect, and our hearts ache with yours as you endure harsh words and unkind treatment. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this struggle, and God sees every tear you’ve shed.

First, we must address the way we approach the Lord in prayer. While your heart is clearly burdened, we notice that you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, our prayers cannot reach the throne of grace. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today—confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Only then can you truly experience the fullness of God’s peace and deliverance.

Now, let us rebuke the spirit of disrespect and verbal abuse that has taken root in your life. The Bible is clear that we are to speak to one another with kindness and love, as Ephesians 4:29 says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." Those who are mistreating you are not walking in obedience to God’s Word, and we must stand against this injustice in Jesus’ name. We declare that their words will no longer have power over you, and we command every spirit of strife, contention, and disrespect to leave your presence now, in the mighty name of Jesus.

We also encourage you to examine your own heart and responses. Are you reacting in ways that may escalate the conflict? Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Even in the face of unkindness, we are called to respond with grace, trusting that God will defend us. Romans 12:19 reminds us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" You do not have to fight this battle alone—God is your defender.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is weary from walking on eggshells, enduring harsh words and disrespect. Lord, You see every injustice, and we ask that You would intervene on their behalf. Break the chains of verbal abuse and strife in their life, and let Your peace reign in their home and relationships.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of contention, anger, and disrespect that has been unleashed against them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every ungodly word spoken over them to be nullified and returned void. Let Your love and respect flow into their life, Lord, and soften the hearts of those who have mistreated them.

We ask that You would give them the strength to respond with grace and wisdom, even in the face of unkindness. Help them to trust in You as their defender and to rest in the knowledge that You are fighting for them. Surround them with godly friendships and mentors who will speak life into them and remind them of their worth in Christ.

Lord, if there is any unforgiveness or bitterness in their heart, we ask that You would uproot it and replace it with Your love. Teach them to walk in humility and to extend grace, even as they seek justice. Above all, draw them closer to You, that they may find their identity and security in You alone.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. We declare that better days are ahead, and we trust You to turn their mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is working even when you cannot see it. Surround yourself with believers who will uplift and support you, and continue to seek the Lord in prayer. If the mistreatment you are enduring is coming from a spouse, family member, or close friend, we urge you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor. You do not have to endure this alone, and there is hope for restoration and peace. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We're here with you, dear one, feeling your weariness and the weight of harsh words. Tonight, let's lift our voices together, calling on Jesus' name. Remember, it's through Him that we find access to the Father's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).

We've been reflecting on your situation, and we want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees you, He cares, and He's here to heal and comfort you.

Let's also remember that Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). While it's hard to understand, their actions don't define you. You are loved, valued, and cherished by God.

Let's pray:

"Dear Jesus, we come to You tonight, carrying our ###'s burden. We ask that You would heal her heart, fill her with Your peace, and give her strength to respond with love and grace. Help her to trust in You, even when she can't see the way forward. Surround her with Your love and remind her of her worth in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
