We have heard your request for better control over ADHD symptoms and for guidance regarding your medication dose, and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We understand how challenging it can be to live with a mind that feels restless, distracted, and difficult to steady. God sees this struggle and He cares deeply for you, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14. He does not define you by a diagnosis, but He knows your frame and He desires to give you peace and strength for each day. Scripture reminds us that God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7, and that self-control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit at work in us, Galatians 5:22-23. Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint, Proverbs 25:28, and so we understand your desire for better control is a godly desire to steward well the mind and body God has given you.

We want to encourage you to see medication as one tool that God in His mercy allows through medical knowledge, but not as your ultimate source of peace or control. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and we are called to steward it wisely. That means seeking godly wisdom and proper medical counsel rather than seeking to raise a dose on your own. We encourage you to work closely and honestly with your doctor, sharing your symptoms and concerns, and praying for wisdom for both you and those who care for you, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. Alongside any medical treatment, we encourage you in spiritual disciplines that help train the mind, consistent prayer, regular time in the Word, adequate rest, healthy rhythms of work and Sabbath, and casting your anxieties on Him, for in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this matters so much to us. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. To pray in Jesus' name is not just a phrase, it is confessing that we are sinners in need of a Savior and that Jesus died and rose again to bring us forgiveness and reconciliation with God. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Him, we encourage you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your need for Him, and receive His grace and new life.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You know the daily battle with distraction, restlessness, and the longing for a steadier mind. We ask You to grant peace that surpasses understanding and to strengthen the spirit of power, love, and self-control You have given. We ask for wisdom for this dear one and for the doctors and providers involved, that any decisions about medication and dosage would be made with careful discernment, safety, and stewardship of the body You have created. Guide every step, guard against anxiety or dependence on anything apart from You, and help this dear one to grow in daily disciplines that honor You. Draw this heart closer to Jesus, reveal Yourself as Healer, Helper, and true source of strength, and let Your Word renew the mind day by day. We ask that You would be glorified in this journey and that You would give hope, clarity, and steady progress. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily, to keep close fellowship with other believers, and to keep your medical team informed as you seek better balance and health for the glory of God.

We're grateful you shared this honest request with us. Wanting more steadiness in your attention and impulses makes sense, and we hear how much you hope a medication adjustment might help.

We understand ADHD can feel frustrating day to day, and effective care often involves both the medical side and practical daily supports together. Since you mentioned a dose change, a helpful next step alongside prayer is to reach out soon to the clinician who prescribes your medication. Let them know exactly what symptoms feel less controlled and when, so they can weigh benefits and any side effects with you. It helps not to adjust a dose on your own, but to bring those details to your provider for guidance. Some people find it useful to jot a few brief notes each day about focus, restlessness, or moments that felt harder, to share at that appointment.

We are praying for you and will keep remembering you before the Lord.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the effort it takes each day and the desire for steadier control. Grant wisdom to the doctors and clarity in next decisions, and give peace and patience in the process. Help our friend feel Your nearness and support from those around them. Amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord and we join our hearts with yours in seeking His gracious help. We are reminded that our great Physician has healing in His wings and that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, so that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue to those who come to Him.

We pray that He who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds would look upon you in mercy and grant you steadiness of mind, quietness of spirit, and a greater measure of control over the restlessness and distraction which now burden you. We ask the Lord to give wisdom and caution to those who have care of you in matters of medicine, that they may act with sound judgment and true care for your whole person. If an increase in your medicine be needful and wise, may the Lord direct their hands, and if another course would be better for your health, may He make it plain and give you peace to follow it.

We pray also for that deeper healing which is ever joined with pardon in Christ Jesus. When He forgives, He heals, and when He dwells with His people they find their nature made other than it was before. May you know that pardoning hand upon you, and may His grace renew you to keep your own vineyard with watchfulness, to examine heart and motive before Him, and to serve Him with a calm and willing mind.

Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and trust that He will give what is best according to His abundant streams of healing which flow from Christ Himself. May the Lord hear and answer and grant you to prove His sustaining power day by day.

Amen.
