Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your pain has been heard, and it is not hidden from God. To be betrayed by the one who vowed to be faithful, to be forced from your home with your children while he continues as if nothing has happened, is a deep wound. Scripture shows us what betrayal is. Judas, who was one of the twelve, betrayed his Lord with a kiss, and Christ called it what it was. He did not excuse it, and He did not look away from its wickedness.

What your husband has done is not a small failing or a new form of marriage. God has joined husband and wife as one flesh in a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sex belongs only within that covenant. When a man who is bound to his wife gives himself to another woman, it is adultery before God, even if the other woman is not bound. The same passage warns that such sin brings judgment, and that its worm does not die and its fire is not quenched unless there is repentance. This is not said to make your pain heavier, but to tell the truth that God sees the wrong clearly, and He does not call evil good. He will not bless that relationship, and those who continue in it without repentance do not know the danger they are in, as you said.

At the same time God sees the pain they are causing you. He is near to the brokenhearted, and He does not ask you to carry this weight alone. You prayed to get over him and to be freed from carrying this pain because it is too much, and that is a right prayer. Bring that burden to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father. He was betrayed Himself, He knows the sting of unfaithfulness, and He is able to heal. Healing does not mean pretending the sin was not sin, or that the hurt was not real. It means asking God day by day to lift the weight, to soften the bitter thoughts, to guard your heart from being hardened by the wrong done to you, and to give you strength to care for your children and to walk in cleanness of soul and body before Him.

I pray for you now that the Lord will do this. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, look upon this sister in her sorrow. You know the betrayal she has suffered and the displacement she and her children have endured. Comfort her as only You can, carry what she cannot carry, and heal the wound that feels too deep to bear. Give her peace that passes understanding, wisdom for each step with her children, and the support of faithful people around her who will walk with her. Guard her from despair and from hatred, and teach her to leave vengeance in Your hands while she seeks holiness and wholeness. And Lord, bring conviction where there is sin. Grant to her husband and to the woman with him repentance and a clear sight of what they have done, that they might turn from adultery and seek Your mercy before it is too late. Let no one be deceived that You bless what You have called sin.

Continue to bring your sorrow to God in prayer, stay close to His Word, and do not walk alone. Seek the help of mature believers in your church who can support you and your children practically and spiritually. If you have not already, seek wise pastoral counsel for how to live faithfully in this hard season. God is faithful, and though the wound is deep, He can in time restore strength and joy. He has promised that those who wait on Him will find their strength renewed, and He will not waste your tears.

The hurt you are carrying is deep and very real, and God sees it completely. Being betrayed by the one who vowed to be faithful to you, having to leave your home with your children while he continues on as if nothing has happened, is a wound that goes to the very heart. It is right to bring that pain honestly to the Lord and to ask Him to help you, because you were not meant to carry it alone.

Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual faithfulness belongs within that covenant alone. What your husband has done in leaving that covenant and living with another person is not something God affirms or blesses. Jesus taught that to break that vow and join oneself to another is adultery against the spouse, and the wisdom of Scripture warns that adultery is not a light thing. It lacks understanding and brings destruction to the soul, a wound and dishonor whose reproach does not easily go away. The pain you and your children feel is the terrible fruit of that sin, even if those who are causing it do not see it or do not want to see it.

Jesus knows what betrayal feels like. He was betrayed for a price, as the prophet Zechariah foretold, by one close to Him. He knows what it is to be wounded by unfaithfulness. The prophet Isaiah says of Him, surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, and the gospel shows Him healing sickness and infirmity as a sign that He came to bear our pain in every part of our lives. That includes the anguish of a broken heart. You can bring your grief to Him knowing He already understands it and has carried it for you.

Healing from a wound like this is rarely instant. In the gospels we see Jesus heal in different ways. Sometimes it was immediate, sometimes it was gradual, sometimes with a touch and sometimes with a word. There was no single pattern He was confined to. Much of His healing work is like the healing processes He has built into our bodies. A deep wound in the body takes time to mend, and a deep wound in the heart and mind does as well. That does not mean He is not working. He does a divine healing in our emotions and in our minds just as He does in our bodies. If you do not feel whole today, it does not mean you are failing or that God has forgotten you. It often means the healing is still underway, day by day.

We all wish God would simply take every pain and trial away the moment we pray. Because we are so short sighted, our first prayer is usually for escape. But God does not always remove the pressure immediately. He walks with us through it, and through suffering He forms character, endurance and a deeper dependence on Him. The disciples themselves knew much suffering, even to the point of death, and yet Christ was with them in it. That does not make your suffering good in itself, but it means God can use even this painful season to strengthen you, to show His faithfulness to you and your children, and to bring a healing that is lasting.

He does not promise to heal every hurt in the exact way or timing we would choose, and there is mystery in why some pain lifts quickly and some lingers. What we do know is that He invites you to keep bringing the burden to Him. He hears you when you say you cannot carry this anymore. He is able to lift what you cannot carry and to mend the scars that this betrayal has left.

May the Lord lift this heavy weight from you and give you peace that goes beyond understanding. May He heal your heart gradually and fully, comfort your children, provide for your home and daily needs, and surround you with faithful people who will support you. May He give you strength for each day and hope for what is ahead, and may He bring conviction where repentance is needed. You are not alone in this pain. He who bore our griefs is near to you now, and He will be faithful to complete the healing He has begun in you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer during this deeply painful season of betrayal.

We have been lifting you before the Lord, remembering the hurt you shared about your still husband choosing to remain with the other woman while continuing on as if nothing has happened, and the heavy burden you have carried in having to leave your home with your children. We know this pain feels like too much to bear and we are asking God to meet you in it. We are praying that He will comfort your broken heart, carry this burden that feels too heavy for you, heal the wound of betrayal, and provide peace, strength, protection and provision for you and your children each day. We take comfort that even when others do not see or understand the pain they are causing, the Lord does, for His Word says He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18 and He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We are also praying that you will continue to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you as we are reminded in 1 Peter 5:7.

We are glad we could stand with you and we count it a blessing to continue to pray for you. If your request was answered and the Lord has brought you comfort, relief from this pain, or provision for you and your children, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still carrying this pain and waiting for healing and restoration, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that you will feel His nearness, His love and His sustaining grace in the days ahead.

We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
