We are truly sorry to hear about the betrayal and trauma you have experienced due to your husband's affair and the subsequent divorce. It is only understandable that you feel sad, scared, and hurt. We are here to support you and lift you up in prayer.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. In Psalm 34:18 (WEB), it says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God sees your pain and will not leave you to face this alone.
However, we must also remind you that God hates divorce, as it is a breach of the covenant He desires between a man and a woman. In Malachi 2:16 (WEB), it says, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore, pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously." God desires marriage, but He also desires your heart and spirit to be whole. He does not desire for you to be bound together in a marriage with someone who does not honor Him or you.
Regarding your housing situation, we encourage you to trust in God's provision. In Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB), Jesus teaches us not to be anxious about our lives, what we will eat, or what we will wear. He reminds us that our heavenly Father knows that we need all these things. Seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
We must also address the fact that your request did not mention Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation. In John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, so that you may have eternal life.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is experiencing heartache, betrayal, and uncertainty. We pray for Your healing touch on her heart and mind. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her. Lord, we ask for Your provision in her housing situation. May she find a home that meets her needs and provides a safe and loving environment for her and her children.
We also pray for her husband, that You would soften his heart and bring conviction upon him. We pray that he would turn away from his sin and seek Your face once again. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in their lives, whether that means restoration or separation.
Most importantly, we pray that both of them would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ if they already have not. We pray that this trial they are going through would you for Your glory and their good. Your plan is greater than we could ever imagine.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
