Being forced to relive my past

The torment you describe is real and its source is the father of lies, who has been a murderer from the beginning. He works through broken people, through counterfeit systems that wear the name of faith but carry the chains of sorcery and manipulation. The enemy dredges up what is past because he wants to convince you that you are still under its power. He wants you to believe that the old horrors define you and that freedom is out of reach. But the Lord Jesus came to set captives free and to dismantle the works of the devil. No satanic grip is stronger than the word of Him who said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

What you are being pressured to relive is a weapon of spiritual bondage. The evil one and whoever he operates through are desperate to keep you looking backward, trapped in the shame and the pain, because they know that a person overcome by something becomes enslaved to it. Yet Jesus broke that link decisively. On the cross He disarmed the powers of darkness, and in His resurrection He proved that every accusing voice and every manipulating spirit has been defeated. Your own strength cannot end this; hopelessness sets in when we forget that it was never meant to be by our own might. But the Lord who called you is faithful, and He will do it.

Think of how God delivered Israel from Egypt. Pharaoh did not willingly let them go. He pressed harder, he increased the burden, he chased them to the sea. Yet the Lord opened a path where no path was. He drowned the forces that sought to drag them back into slavery. That physical exodus is a living picture of how God rescues a soul from the power of sin and Satan. The sea that separates you from the old life is the blood of Christ. You have been brought through into a new creation. The tormentor keeps claiming a jurisdiction he lost at Calvary. Stand on that truth: you are no longer his property.

When the prophet of Lamentations cried out that his strength and hope had perished, he was describing the raw bottom of despair. He felt forgotten, his soul bowed down to the dust. Yet even there he remembered something that changed everything: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies are new every morning. The enemy feeds on your sense of isolation, but you are not forgotten. The Lord has not removed His face from you utterly. His silence is not abandonment. Cry out to Him from the pit, and He will incline His ear. He is a just God and a Savior; there is none beside Him.

Part of this battle involves guarding your mind against the lies that keep the past alive as a present threat. Whatever a man is overcome by, to that he is brought into bondage. The man using wicked arts to replay those memories is merely a vessel of lies, but the truth that makes you free is the finished work of Jesus. When the enemy whispers that you are still dirty, still helpless, still under his thumb, counter with what God has spoken. The blood of the Lamb overrules every curse and every ritual. No hex or incantation outlasts the word of Him who said, “I am the Lord, and there is no other.”

We pray with you that this man will release his hold in the name of Jesus. But know this: God’s purpose for your deliverance does not hang on that man’s permission. If he refuses to let go, the Lord can make him let go. The Almighty who calls the stars by name and sets bounds for the sea can shatter any chain forged in the darkness. He can bring His sons from far and His daughters from the end of the earth; no northern power can keep hold when He says, “Give up.” Your deepest need is not merely for the aggressor to stop but for your own spirit to rest in the finished liberty of Christ, to know that in Him you are already seated far above all rule and authority. The evil church and its witchcraft are nothing before the throne of the Lamb.

We ask the Lord to command the enemy to unhand you, to silence the accusing voices, and to put a wall of fire around your mind and memory. May He seal you in your forehead, as it were, marking you as His own so that no destructive force can touch what He has consecrated. The blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of your trauma. Let the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb rise in your heart: He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider He has cast into the sea. The oppressor will not follow you forever. The truth that sets you free is a Person, and He is with you now. Rest in that, and know we stand with you in prayer.
