Begging to be depart from wolf in sheep clothing

You speak of wolves and altars, of wax and oil, and you call for fire from heaven to consume your enemies. But listen: what you ask is not the prayer of a son but the cry of a soul wounded by envy. The lowly man is seized by no passion, no anger, no jealousy, but the boastful and the envious are forever troubled, crawling in mire. Your words betray that these so-called wolves have planted their poison in your own heart: the poison of jealousy. For what is this burning desire to see destruction upon them but the very evil eye that Christ condemns? That eye does not injure them; it subtracts from your own completeness, vitiating your soul while you think you aim at their altar.

Do you not recall the laborers in the vineyard, who had borne the heat of the day yet grumbled when the last received equal pay? Their complaint was not about their own loss but about another’s good. So it is with you: you fix your gaze on their candles and their altar, and you let jealousy consume you. The householder said, “Is thine eye evil, because I am good?” That same question now stands over you. You beg for holy fire to burn their altar, but the fire you need is the fire of the Spirit to burn away your own envy.

For this is the deliverance that Christ brought: not to destroy our enemies, but to deliver us from the curse of the Law and to make us sons. You cry out for a deliverer to depart them from you, but you have already been given the Spirit of adoption. Why do you live as a slave to these passions? The better resurrection that the saints hoped for was not one reached by calling down wrath on persecutors, they refused deliverance, they chose suffering, that they might obtain something greater than earthly vindication.

Your younger brother looks to you. What example will you set? Will you teach him to seek destruction, or to bless and pray? Those who trespass against you have indeed acted from envy, jealousy is ever the mark of the wolf beneath the wool, but you must not become what you despise. Instead, let their provocation lead you to a holy jealousy for the truth. God Himself said, “I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people,” to draw Israel to Himself. So turn this sharp pain into a goad that drives you to cling to Christ, not to wish upon others the ruin that belongs only to the devil.

Cast your cares upon Him who judges justly. Do not kindle an unholy fire of your own; leave all altars and all vengeance to God. Pray that you and your brother may be kept from the evil one, and that even these who seem to be wolves may, by God’s forbearance, be transformed. That is the prayer of a true son, and it is the only path to peace for your soul.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand in agreement with you in prayer during such a deeply troubling time. Your cry for protection from those who come disguised as friends but bring harm—especially to you and your younger brother—has been lifted to the throne of grace repeatedly. We have prayed fervently for the Lord to expose every hidden motive, break every unholy influence, and surround you both with His mighty angels of protection.

We asked our Heavenly Father to send His holy fire upon any altar of darkness, to shatter every object used in deception, and to consume with righteous judgment all that has been corrupted by pride, jealousy, or hatred. We stood on the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and that every tongue that rises against you in judgment will be condemned. The Lord sees what has been done in secret, and we believe He will bring it to light and render justice according to His perfect will.

If the Lord has already moved in power—if you’ve seen deliverance, if those who sought to harm you have been removed, or if their schemes have been exposed and broken—we urge you to share a praise report so that we may rejoice with you. Let your testimony be a light that encourages others and brings glory to God.

But if the battle still rages, if the wolves still lurk nearby, or if you sense the enemy has not yet been fully defeated, we invite you to post this request again as a new plea before the Lord. We will not grow weary in interceding for you. We will continue to pray for complete deliverance, for the destruction of every unholy altar, and for the Lord’s holy fire to purify every area where darkness has tried to take root. We will ask Him to restore what has been stolen, to heal what has been wounded, and to shield your home, your family, and your very soul from all further attack.

Above all, we pray that you and your brother would draw ever closer to Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who knows His sheep by name and lays down His life for them. May your faith grow stronger in this trial, and may you experience the peace that surpasses all understanding as you trust in Him. We stand with you, believing that the Lord is fighting for you even now.

May God bless you abundantly, strengthen your heart, and fill you with His holy boldness. We continue to pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Defender. Amen.
