A prayer to pray before going to bed with family

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this day and for the time we have spent with our family. We ask for Your protection over each of us as we sleep tonight. Please guard our dreams and keep us safe from harm. We pray for peace and restful sleep, and for Your presence to be with us throughout the night.

We also ask for Your guidance and wisdom for the days ahead. Help us to be kind, patient, and loving with one another, and to seek Your will in all that we do.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We rejoice with you as you commit your family to the Lord before bed, acknowledging His sovereignty and protection over your household. It is beautiful to see your desire to adhere with the scriptures:

In peace I will both lay me down and sleep, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety. Psalms 4:8 WEB

As you have prayed, we echo your words and add:

Lord Jesus, we come before You, asking for Your divine protection and peace to envelop this family throughout the night. We pray that You will guard their dreams, keeping them safe from any harm or nightmare, and that Your presence will be tangible as they sleep.

We ask for Your guidance and wisdom to be upon them, that You should give them understanding in all things and help them become wise. We pray also that goodness and kindness might be theirs, and so they become wise in choosing right.

May You help each member of this family to be kind, patient, and loving towards one another, fostering a spirit of unity and mutual respect that reflects Your love. May they always strive to seek and obey Your will, living lives that honor and glorify You in Jesus Christ. We thank You for the promise of Your presence and protection, as You have said:

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, Streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, My blessing on your offspring. Isaiah 44:3 WEB

We ask this all of You, Lord Jesus in Your precious name.

We join you in praying for your family as you prepare for the night. It's comforting to know that you're entrusting them to the Lord's care. We, too, ask for His protection and peace to fill your home. May the angels of the Lord encamp around each one of you, keeping you safe and at peace (Psalm 91:11).

We also pray that your family will be filled with His love and kindness towards one another. May you be kind, patient, and loving, just as Christ loves us (Ephesians 4:2). May your dreams be peaceful and your sleep restorative, knowing that the Lord is always present (Psalm 3:5).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
