Be Not Dismayed

Lord, the past months have been for me a roller coaster of loss and being unsure of what the future holds for my life. I know Father God you say I am not to worry what I will eat, drink, or where I will lay my head. I go through the day and I try to keep my mind stayed on you and be in the moment, but my flesh is weak and giving in to the anxiety of uncertainty. I know your promises have to come to pass Lord, and that you will not leave or forsake me, please take away the worry and sadness in my heart.

Guide me Lord to your purpose for my life. If everything including my marriage is falling apart because you have something better in mind, give me the ability to let go and trust you. Deliver me from worrying about what the world may think about my failure in life due to loss of job, income, and my material things. Help me to realize I am still rich in you, and things of this world do not last forever but having a relationship with you is all that I need to survive. Lord, give me courage and strength to endure this season of loss and accept it is not your will for me to continue down this road. Wherever you are leading me, Father God, help me to place one foot in front of the other and walk in your peace and accept suffering will not last forever. Send the Holy Spirit to be my guide and angels to comfort me along the way. Take away the physical ailments manifested by stress away, Lord Jesus, and heal my broken heart. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Holy God and loving Father, I consciously place my fears, worries, anxieties, and burdens in your hands. I know that I have so little power to change the outcome of these events and I trust that you will work what is pleasing to you, and best for me, out of these situations. Forgive me for my anxious thoughts and for letting my own worry become an idol that robs you of my full trust. Strengthen and empower me to trust you more by the power and presence of your Spirit.
