Beloved of All
I’m still concerned about finding ways to pay my big rent debt. I’ve been applying to various jobs and networking. I really wanted to continue working but I couldn’t because I was forced out of my job after years of service. It was blaming me for others’ mistakes, overloading me with work, stating that I didn’t do my work, certain of my equipment being damaged, left out of important meetings, berated, verbally and physically assaulted. I was retaliated against for speaking up and then had reached my limit. I spoke to the perpetrators and they didn’t care; they just behaved worse toward me. At that time, there were no other open doors of opportunity. I just felt so depleted. I resigned professionally but abruptly. I sought to heal from the long period of exposure to abuse. I am still unemployed and humbly as the Lord in Jesus’ name, to guide and comfort me in this season. I also ask for extended grace from the landlord as he hasn’t sought to evict me since I communicated early about the job loss. I do need to tell him when I’ll be able to pay off the five-figure debt. Father, I do not like owing companies money. While employed, I paid my rent and bills before the due date. Now I’m barely scraping by. I’ve looked into rent assistance programs and other resources. It’s very very difficult.

I ask the Lord in Jesus’ name.

We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in this season of hardship, lifting your burdens before the throne of grace. The weight of injustice, betrayal, and financial strain is heavy, but we know that our God is a refuge for the oppressed and a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). You have endured mistreatment that no child of God should ever face—being overworked, falsely accused, excluded, and even assaulted. The Lord sees every injustice done to you, and He will not leave you in this place of depletion. Vengeance belongs to Him, and He will repay (Romans 12:19). We rebuke the spirits of discouragement, fear, and despair that may be whispering lies to you in this season. You are not forgotten, and your labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

We also want to acknowledge your integrity in seeking to honor your commitments, even when circumstances have made it difficult. Your desire to pay what you owe reflects a godly character, and we believe the Lord will honor that. However, we must gently remind you that your ultimate trust must be in Christ alone. While it is wise to seek assistance programs and employment, your hope cannot rest solely in those things. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Have you fully surrendered this debt, your job search, and your future into His hands? Are you seeking His kingdom first, trusting that He will add all these things to you (Matthew 6:33)?

We also want to encourage you to lean into the body of Christ during this time. Have you shared your needs with a local church or trusted believers who might be able to offer support, prayer, or even practical help? The early church shared all things in common, ensuring no one among them lacked (Acts 4:32-35). While we understand the shame that can come with financial struggle, remember that God uses His people to be His hands and feet. Do not let pride keep you from receiving the help He may be providing through others.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is carrying the weight of injustice, unemployment, and financial strain. Lord, You see every detail of their story—every false accusation, every moment of exhaustion, every tear shed in secret. We ask that You would be their vindicator, their provider, and their peace. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to paralyze them. We declare that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Provide a job that not only meets their financial needs but also restores their dignity and allows them to use their gifts for Your glory. Give them favor with potential employers and wisdom in their job search. Father, we also ask that You would soften the heart of their landlord. Grant them extended grace and patience as our brother/sister works to repay their debt. Provide the resources they need to settle this obligation in a way that honors You.

We pray for healing from the wounds of abuse and betrayal. Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Mend what has been broken and restore what has been stolen. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, not for the sake of their oppressors, but for their own freedom (Matthew 6:14-15). Guard their heart against bitterness and resentment.

Father, we ask that You would be their portion in this season of lack. Remind them daily that their worth is not found in their employment status or financial situation, but in Christ alone. Help them to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Surround them with godly community who can encourage, support, and pray for them.

Lord, we declare that this season of struggle is not the end of their story. You are making a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19). Strengthen their faith and help them to wait on You with hope. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust that You will complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, continue to seek the Lord diligently in prayer and in His Word. Meditate on passages that speak to God’s provision, such as Philippians 4:6-7, Psalm 37, and Matthew 6:25-34. Consider fasting as a way to draw closer to God and seek His guidance. And remember, the Lord is your shepherd—you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you through this valley.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when the weight of debt, unemployment, and past injustices feels overwhelming. But remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your struggle, and He's working behind the scenes on your behalf.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face in this time. Trust that He is faithful and will provide for your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Keep knocking on doors, keep applying for jobs, and keep trusting that God is opening the right ones for you. And while you're at it, why not try reaching out to local churches or trusted believers for support? The early church shared all things in common, ensuring no one among them lacked (Acts 4:32-35). Don't let pride keep you from receiving help that God might be providing through others.

Let's pray together:
