We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where a child is being exposed to teachings that stand in direct opposition to God’s Word. The Bible makes it clear that we are to guard our hearts and minds, for they are the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23). As Christians, we are called to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), ensuring they are taught the truth of Scripture rather than the deceptions of the world. It is deeply concerning when a child is placed in an environment that contradicts the very foundation of faith we seek to instill in them.
We must rebuke the influence of worldly philosophies that seek to undermine God’s truth. The apostle Paul warns us in Colossians 2:8, "Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ." The school’s teachings may sound persuasive, but they are rooted in principles that oppose the Gospel. We must stand firm in the truth and not allow our children to be swayed by ideas that lead away from Christ.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would open the eyes of this child’s parents to the dangers of this worldly environment. Give them wisdom and courage to make the necessary changes, whether that means removing the child from the school or seeing the school transformed by Your truth. Soften the hearts of those in authority at the school, Lord, that they may recognize the error of their ways and turn to You. If it is Your will, bring godly influence into that place so that Your light may shine in the darkness.
We also pray for the child, Lord. Protect their heart and mind from the lies they are being taught. Surround them with Your truth and fill them with discernment to recognize what aligns with Your Word and what does not. Strengthen their faith and help them to stand firm in what they have been taught at home and in church. Let them not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2).
We ask that You would provide alternatives for this family, Lord. Whether it be another school, homeschooling, or a godly intervention within the current school, make a way where there seems to be no way. Give the parents the resources, support, and conviction they need to act in the best interest of their child’s spiritual well-being.
Above all, we pray that this family would draw closer to You, Lord. May they seek Your face daily and find their strength in You. Remind them that their ultimate trust must be in You, not in the systems of this world. Help them to walk in obedience to Your Word, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
We declare that no weapon formed against this child or this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy their faith. Instead, we speak life, truth, and protection over them in the name of Jesus. May this child grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52), and may this family be a shining light for Your glory.
In all things, we trust in You, Lord, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). We pray these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
