We have heard your cry and we join you in prayer for your return to the Lord with a sincere and thankful heart for your honesty.

We pray that God in His mercy will grant you true repentance and living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone. We ask Him to deliver you from the power of the devil and from every scheme of the enemy, to expose those schemes and cause them to fail, and to free you from every bondage and stronghold that has held you. We pray that He will help you, protect you, deliver you and provide for you as you pass through these trials.

We pray also for your healing, both for the wound of backsliding in your soul and for the needs of your body and your health, that God will restore you fully and establish you again in His grace. Scripture teaches that godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation without regret, and that repentance has great power even for one who has fallen into great depth, if we lay hold of it with a genuine purpose of heart. It is not tears alone that show repentance, as Esau sought the blessing with tears but did not repent as he ought, but a real turning of the heart that is then shown in a careful hearing of the word, in continual remembrance, in fortitude, and in turning away from worldly things.

Do not fall into despair. Even when we have fallen, Christ can be formed in us again when we turn back to Him. God has shown longsuffering toward you, calling you to repentance, and the Church is like a spiritual bath that wipes away stains of the soul through the many ways of repentance He has given.

So we pray that the Lord will give you grace to continue in His word, to bring forth the fruit of amendment, and to know His forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit as you are restored to Him. May He strengthen you to stand, to walk in His ways, and to live in the hope of His righteous judgment and mercy.

We will continue to pray for you, that the Lord Jesus will lift you up, heal you, keep you, and form His life fully in you again. Amen.
