Autistic Media Talk

Dear Lord Jesus, Please let me talk to my shrink of how she can find somebody or somewhere or who to ask for getting a national wholesome tv spot. The place I am connected to through zoom seems to know of other Autisic media. She even suggested dating show. I asked her about other media. She didn’t respond directly. I don’t do any dating shows for various reasons. So please work. Get a good answer. In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. It’s clear you have a God-given desire to share meaningful, wholesome media that reflects the beauty and dignity of those on the autism spectrum, and we believe the Lord can open doors no one else can. Scripture reminds us, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5 WEB). We pray that the Lord would give your counselor wisdom and clarity in guiding you toward the right connections and opportunities.

We also want to gently encourage you to consider whether your focus on media opportunities aligns with God’s timing and purpose for your life. While your intentions are good, we must always seek the Lord’s will above our own desires. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This doesn’t mean God will give us everything we want, but as we delight in Him, He shapes our desires to match His perfect will. Let us pray that He refines your heart and leads you into the opportunities He has prepared for you.

Regarding the mention of dating shows, we must address this with biblical truth. The world often promotes relationships that do not honor God, and dating shows can encourage frivolous or even sinful behavior, such as fornication or lust. Scripture is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). If you are seeking a godly spouse, we encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage, surrounded by accountability and prayer, rather than participating in or promoting media that does not align with biblical principles.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, knowing that You alone open doors no one can shut. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would give their counselor wisdom and discernment to guide them toward wholesome media opportunities that honor You. Father, we ask that You would remove any distractions or worldly influences that do not align with Your Word. Give them patience and trust in Your timing, and let them seek Your will above all else.

Lord, we pray for clarity in communication between them and their counselor. Soften hearts to hear and respond according to Your purpose. If there are connections or organizations You want them to engage with, reveal them clearly. Protect their heart from discouragement or frustration, and fill them with Your peace as they wait on You.

We also ask, Father, that You would guard their mind and heart from any media or relationships that do not honor You. Help them to pursue godly relationships, if that is Your will, with the goal of marriage and a Christ-centered union. Let their life be a testimony of Your grace and truth in all they do.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness to lead and provide. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and Scripture, asking Him to reveal His will for this desire. If this is truly His plan for you, He will make a way. Until then, trust in Him and rest in His promises. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). May the Lord bless you and keep you as you seek Him first.

It's good to hear you pressing into this desire, a platform to share about autistic life in a wholesome way, not the dating-show path. We love that you know what you do want and what you don't. That clarity is a strength, not a roadblock.

Your therapist may not have had an answer ready when you first asked, but your question is a seed planted. Sometimes a professional needs a moment to think, or to reach out to their own network. One gentle next step could be: before your next appointment, write down exactly what you're hoping for. Something simple, like: “I'm looking for a national, family-friendly TV spot where I can talk about autism from my own experience. I don't want a dating show. Who might you know, maybe a producer, a media contact, or an organization, that could help me explore this?” Handing her a clear request can make it easier for her to help. You could also ask if she's willing to ask around on your behalf, since she already mentioned other autistic media.

In the meantime, you are not alone in this search. God can open doors no person sees yet, and He can give you patience while you wait for a good answer.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the gifts and perspective You've given our friend. We ask that You guide the next conversation with the therapist, let the right words come, and connect our friend to people who can truly help. Protect this desire from discouragement, and in Your perfect timing, open a door to a wholesome media opportunity that honors You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The prayer you have breathed to the throne of grace touches upon a matter where human voices falter and fail to give a straight answer. You seek a wholesome path, yet a suggestion has been made that you rightly discern as unworthy of a child of God. Rejoice that you have within you that infused principle which cries, "Avoid everything that is evil." The Spirit has taught you to shrink back from that which would trifle with sacred things, and this very revulsion is a token of Divine guidance.

Consider that the silence of your counselor may be a mercy, not a hindrance. Did not David find that human counsel often ran dry, only to discover that Divine gentleness had prepared another way? When Abigail interposed, it was no planned conference but a sudden deliverance. Wait upon the Lord with quiet submission, for haste is the author of mischief. The Almighty is not bound by the narrow channels of a national spot on television; He can dissolve difficulties and make a path in the wilderness where no human advertiser has trod.

The Sovereignty of God is sweet comfort here. He ordains the doors that open and the doors that remain shut. It may be that this delay and the lack of a direct response are the very means by which He keeps you from a snare, and instead prepares something far more wholesome than you have yet imagined. Plead with Him to display His power over unlikely persons and institutions. He can turn the heart of executives and producers as easily as He turned the heart of Pharaoh, though they know Him not. Let your reliance be not upon the wisdom of a shrink, but upon the hand that tore away David's comforts only to give him a throne. The low tree, by Divine Grace, shall flourish; the high tree, cut down, shall dry up. Trust Him for the answer in His own time and way.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is great danger when we seek a platform before we have settled what is wholesome. You did well to refuse a dating show, for such things belong to the theatre and the marketplace, inflaming the soul and making it more careless. He who converses of these spectacles does not benefit the soul but fills it with corruption, while thoughts of judgment and the unquenchable fire sober us. The truly wholesome words are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the doctrine which is according to godliness.

If anyone teaches otherwise, consenting not to these, he is proud and knows nothing. Why then would you seek a national spot from those who do not themselves consent to wholesome words? Let them not degrade you, who now stand higher, to the position of a disciple seeking their approval. Become a pattern of a higher perfection: let your desire be for a media that speaks what is necessary and of moment to our life, not what merely entertains.

It may be that your therapist, like one sick, finds even wholesome meats unpleasant; but you be not weary in well doing. Commend to her the medicine of holy fear and the conversation of hell, which cuts off all that is dissolute. Then, if God should open a door for a spot that proclaims the faith with a right life, it will be as the star that guided the Magi, drawing souls to Christ. Until then, let your prayer be for wisdom to discern and to speak such things as build up, for we brought nothing into this world and can carry nothing out.

What is gained by pampering the body or seeking the applause of men? Godliness with contentment is great gain.

You’ve brought a deeply personal and important desire before the Lord, and I want you to know it matters. The hunger to see something wholesome, something that honors God in the media, is not small. It’s right to want that, and it’s right to pray that He would make a way where the landscape often seems shut tight against anything that bears His name.

But notice the heart of your prayer: you’re asking for a national spot, something big and visible. The Scripture shows us that when a nation enjoyed God’s blessing, it was because He was at the center of its life, acknowledged, honored, trusted. Yet we live in a time when the very institutions that shape our national consciousness, especially the major media, have worked for decades to push God out. They mock righteousness and fill the airwaves with things that starve the soul. So we shouldn’t be surprised when doors don’t fly open easily for a project that would carry the wholesome words of our Lord Jesus Christ. But that doesn’t mean God is powerless. It means we need His wisdom, not the world’s methods, to navigate it.

Your therapist suggested a dating show, and you wisely said no. That kind of format, built on the world’s views of relationships, can’t carry the truth in a way that aligns with godliness. God’s doctrine teaches honesty, fairness, and diligence, not the shallow spectacle that so often passes for entertainment. So hold firm to that boundary. It’s not a closed door; it’s a protection.

The early church didn’t rush into grand strategies or national campaigns. They waited for the Holy Spirit’s direct guidance for each situation. One of the mistakes we make is thinking a single plan will work everywhere. Your community, your calling, might look different from what others are doing. Seek the mind of the Lord for what He wants to build through you locally, perhaps starting smaller than a national platform. That doesn’t mean it won’t grow; it means letting Him direct the step. Solomon stood on that little brass platform and prayed for the nation, but it began with a heart humbled before God. If God is in it, He can raise up the people and resources you need, maybe from places you’d never expect, just as He foretold that a small tribal province would one day topple a mighty empire.

Be careful, too, of the wolves that dress in sheep’s clothing within the media world. Some use the language of compassion and faith while their hearts are far from Him, exploiting the vulnerable for money. That’s why your own soul must stay anchored in the fear of the Lord, not in a desperate scramble to get on air at any cost. Entrust your project to Him completely. If He opens a door, walk through it with integrity; if He delays, let that be a time to refine the message and make sure it rests on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

Think of it like this: you might need to build something new around the unchanging core. The pulpit that looked worn and ugly wasn’t discarded; a new one was built right around it, so the old structure remained but the presentation became beautiful and ordered. In the same way, your desire for a show can take a form you haven’t yet imagined, one that is fresh and engaging, yet built entirely upon the wholesome doctrine of our Lord. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in that creative process. He knows the people you’ll need, the places to ask, and the timing.

So keep praying. Keep asking Jesus to give you a good answer. But let that answer come first into your own spirit as you wait on Him, not as you force your way into a system that often despises His name. He is your daysman, the one mediator who touches both heaven and earth. If He wills this for the good of others and His glory, no human gatekeeper can stop it. Seek His peace, His pace, and His plan. In Jesus’ name.
