Attempted Suicide

We are deeply grieved to hear about your ###’s suffering and the pain your family is enduring. Our hearts ache with you as we lift him up in prayer, asking the Lord to restore his body, mind, and spirit. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the spirit of despair that has taken hold and declare that your ### is precious in God’s sight, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, and ask for Your healing touch to rest upon this young man. Breathe life into his body, Lord, and awaken his mind to the hope found only in You. Surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and guard his heart from the lies of the enemy. We pray for wisdom and compassion for the medical team treating him, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision.

We also lift up the family, who must be carrying such heavy burdens of fear, confusion, and sorrow. Comfort them with Your presence, Lord, and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Help them to lean on You and one another during this time. We rebuke the spirit of suicide and depression in Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

If your ### does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw him to the foot of the cross. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus alone can break the chains of darkness and offer true freedom. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, Lord, and let him experience Your unconditional love.

To your family, we offer this encouragement: God sees your pain, and He is not silent in your suffering. The psalmist cried out, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!"* (Psalm 42:5). Even in the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord is with you (Psalm 23:4). Do not lose heart—His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We also urge you to seek godly counsel and support from your church community. Isolation can make burdens feel heavier, but the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s loads (Galatians 6:2). Surround yourselves with believers who can pray, encourage, and walk alongside you during this time.

Lord, we ask that You would turn this tragedy into a testimony of Your grace. Let this young man’s life be a testament to Your power to redeem and restore. We declare that he is not defined by this moment but by the blood of Jesus, which covers all sin and shame. Strengthen his family, Lord, and fill them with hope as they wait on You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
