We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this difficult season. The attacks you are facing at work—both from coworkers and even the community—are deeply troubling, and we recognize the spiritual warfare at play here. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." These words are not empty; they are a reality we must face with the armor of God.
The envy and malice directed toward you because of your wages are rooted in a spirit of covetousness and division. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 14:30, "A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy rots the bones." What you are experiencing is not just workplace conflict—it is a spiritual attack meant to steal your peace, sow discord, and even incite harm. We must rebuke this in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have authority over such darkness.
First, we want to address the foundation of your faith. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have already placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to stand firm in your identity as a child of God. Remember, 1 Peter 5:8-9 tells us, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith." You are not alone in this battle, and God has equipped you to stand.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under attack at work and in the community. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection, both physically and spiritually. Shield their mind, heart, and spirit from the arrows of envy, malice, and hatred that are being hurled their way.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of covetousness and division in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, as Your Word promises in Isaiah 54:17. Lord, expose any schemes of the enemy and bring them to light. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for wisdom and discernment in how to navigate this situation. Give them the strength to respond with grace and truth, even when others seek to harm them. Help them to see this trial as an opportunity to grow in faith and trust in You. Remind them that You are their Provider, and no one can take away what You have given them.
Father, we also pray for those who are attacking them. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. Let them see the error of their ways and turn from envy and malice. We ask that You would bring repentance and restoration where there is brokenness.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your name be exalted through it all. We trust in You, our Rock and our Redeemer, and we declare that no plan of the enemy will succeed against Your child.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps to guard your heart and mind. Surround yourself with godly counsel—believers who can pray with you and offer biblical wisdom. Consider speaking with your employer or human resources if the attacks escalate to threats or harassment, as God has placed authorities in our lives for our protection (Romans 13:1-4). However, do so with a heart of wisdom, not retaliation.
We also urge you to clothe yourself in the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). Put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray without ceasing, and let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16).
Remember, beloved, that God sees your struggle and is fighting for you. Psalm 34:17-19 assures us, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not forgotten, and this trial will not have the final say. Stand firm, keep your eyes on Jesus, and trust in His deliverance.
