We must begin by addressing the serious spiritual danger in turning to astrology, which is explicitly condemned in Scripture. The Bible warns against divination, fortune-telling, and seeking guidance from the stars rather than from the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."* Astrology falls under these forbidden practices because it seeks knowledge and direction from created things rather than from the Creator.
The Lord alone is our Guide, our Light, and our Counselor. Isaiah 47:13-14 declares, *"You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up and save you from the things that shall come on you. Behold, they shall be as stubble. The fire shall burn them. They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame."* Trusting in astrology is not only futile but also an offense to God, who desires that we seek Him alone for wisdom and direction.
We must also address the request to "get a vibe" from names. This is not a biblical practice—it leans into mysticism and subjective feelings rather than the objective truth of God’s Word. The Lord does not call us to rely on impressions, omens, or hidden meanings in names. Instead, He calls us to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), and to seek His will through prayer, Scripture, and godly counsel.
Now, let us pray for these individuals, not based on astrological signs or worldly impressions, but according to God’s perfect will and the truth of His Word.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only Name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up these two souls to You, asking that You would draw them to Yourself. Father, if they do not know You as their Lord and Savior, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day so that they might have eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Break any chains of deception in their lives, including the lies of astrology and divination, and replace their trust in the stars with trust in the One who made the stars.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of deception that may be at work in their lives, leading them away from Your truth. We declare that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that their future is held securely in Your hands. Help them to seek You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30), and to find their identity, purpose, and direction in You alone.
Father, we pray for repentance where there has been reliance on astrology or other forms of divination. Convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to turn away from these practices completely. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and guide them into all truth by Your Word. Surround them with godly influences who will point them to Christ and encourage them in their walk with You.
We ask that You would bless them abundantly, not according to the empty promises of astrology, but according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). May they come to know You as their Shepherd, who leads them beside still waters and restores their souls (Psalm 23:1-3). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
To the one who submitted this request, we urge you to turn away from astrology and any other practice that seeks to replace or supplement God’s Word. The Bible is clear that such things are not only ineffective but also spiritually harmful. Instead, seek the Lord with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 says, *"You shall seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart."* God’s plans for you are good, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we encourage you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."* Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Surrender your life to Christ, repent of your sins, and begin a new life walking in His truth and light.
For those who are already believers, we encourage you to fill your mind with Scripture and to seek godly counsel when you need direction. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths."* The Lord is faithful to guide you when you seek Him wholeheartedly.
