Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for opening your heart and bringing so many burdens before the Lord. He hears the prayers of His people, even those that feel forgotten or have been overlooked, and He invites us to cast every care on Him.
I join you in asking for strong protection and real breakthrough for you and for all those in need. The enemy works to discourage and divide, but God is able to do far more than we ask or imagine, and to fill the earth with His glory as He defeats what is evil and lifts up what is good.
You have asked many times for wisdom, for help at work, for guidance in conflicts in the church and in personal relationships, and for direction in your place of service. Scripture teaches that wisdom is the most important thing to seek, more valuable than riches or anything else we might desire. The beginning of that wisdom is reverence for the Lord, a heart that honors Him and listens to His Word. When we love and keep His ways, wisdom preserves us and guards us. Knowledge gives us facts, but wisdom shows us how to apply what we know in a way that pleases God and brings life.
That wisdom is not the cleverness of this world. The wisdom of the world apart from God is earthly and empty and leads to strife and envy, and God shows it to be foolish. True wisdom comes from above. It is pure, peaceable, gentle and full of mercy, and its fruit can be seen in a life that pursues holiness and peace with others. All the treasures of true wisdom and knowledge are found in Christ, and when we turn to Him and listen to His voice, He pours out His Spirit and makes His words known to us. So I pray that the Lord will fill you with His Spirit of wisdom and understanding, that He will give you a discerning heart for every meeting, every decision at work, every sermon and every conversation, and that He will lead and guide and protect you and your team as you seek to do your work in a way that honors Him.
For the conflicts and hurts you mentioned, including those between people close to you and those that have been forgotten, I pray for God's healing and true reconciliation where it is possible, and for conviction where it is needed. Where relationships are broken or have become dysfunctional or impure, we do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but we ask Him to convict, to heal soul wounds, to bring repentance and salvation, and to restore what is broken according to His holiness. God's design for intimacy is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside that needs His mercy, His correction and His power to make new. I pray He will be a Father to those who feel fatherless, that He will show His love, bring healing to the heart, help with school and exams, and stop what is not of Him while encouraging what is pure and right. Where you have spoken about others and feel you have sinned in doing so, thank God that when we confess our sins He is faithful through Jesus Christ alone to forgive and cleanse us and to turn even our failures into a blessing as we walk humbly with Him.
I also join you in praying for the many larger burdens you carry. For persecuted Christians, that they would be strengthened and kept faithful. For those who do not yet know Jesus, that they would hear the gospel and be saved, for there is salvation in no other name. For the peace of Israel and for all who suffer in war zones, in calamities, and for abused children, that the Lord would bring comfort, rescue, justice and healing. For those who are sick, that the Lord in His mercy would bring healing quickly according to His perfect will and take away pain.
For your church and for every outreach and service and gathering for prayer and praise, I pray for a fresh anointing. As in the Scriptures God filled His people with wisdom and skill for the work of His house and anointed what was set apart for His purposes, so I ask that He would anoint your church, raise up more people who love to pray, pour out His presence, protect what He is doing, and use the preaching of His Word and every outreach to save many.
May the Lord encourage you deeply today. Keep His words before you, write them on your heart, and keep seeking wisdom above all else. He will keep you, He will give you strength, favor, love and inspiration for what He has called you to do, and He will speak to you and to those around you. May you know His nearness in your weakness, His help in every conflict, and His power to bring breakthrough in His perfect time. Amen
