Asking the Lord's help

We hear the weight of all you have brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer for His help, protection and breakthrough for you and for all in need.

We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone we have salvation and reconciliation, to be your refuge and strength. May He grant you encouragement, wisdom and a fresh anointing for every outreach, service and sermon, including the evening of prayer and praise this Friday. We pray He will fill that gathering with His presence, raise up more prayer warriors, convict hearts, protect His people and save many through the outreaches that have gone out and those still to come. We thank Him with you for the help He already gave for the first sermon and ask Him to guide, empower and protect the next one also.

For the many conflicts you named, remembered and forgotten, we pray for true peace and reconciliation in Christ. Scripture teaches us not to rush into conflicts out of vainglory but to seek peace and to cut out the root from which conflicts spring, which is often covetousness, envy or vainglory. When we are at peace we learn to despise what is passing and to treasure what is above. Where there has been wrong, we pray God will show what is yours to bear patiently and what is His to correct, that you may stand nobly when tested and be quiet and trust Him when not summoned to strive. We ask Him to mediate where there is hurt, to bring conviction where there is sin, to heal what is wounded and to turn what was spoken unwisely into a blessing for all. We pray He will deal with the issue at church according to truth, give you wisdom for your place there, for your work, your team and your meetings, and help you do all in a manner pleasing to Him.

For relationships you mentioned, we do not ask God to bless what does not honor His design, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and intimacy belongs within it. Instead we ask Him to convict where there is sin, to heal soul wounds, to stop what is dysfunctional and not of Him, and to work salvation and healing in each person. Where relationships are broken we pray for healing and true reconciliation if it is according to His will, and where a relationship itself is outside His will we pray for courage to turn from it, for purity, for the Father's care over those who feel fatherless, and for God to be a Father and protector, especially for the young ones facing school and exams. We ask for miracles of healing, for help in studies, for comfort and for strength to walk in holiness.

We join you also in praying for what keeps being deleted from your requests, for persecuted Christians that they may endure with joy as those who know they suffer for God, for the salvation of the unsaved, for the peace of Israel, for those suffering in war zones and calamities, and for abused children. We remember the three young men who stood against the tyrant and the furnace because they knew they suffered for God, and we pray that same assurance for all who are tried now. We know that God does not allow His righteous to be tempted beyond what they can bear, and when the struggle is near its end He sometimes allows it to be felt more keenly so that the victory may be greater, as with Abraham in his last trial. May those who are weary take courage that deliverance is near and that even what feels intolerable will be made bearable by Him.

We pray for healing for those who are sick, that the Lord would touch bodies quickly and take away what afflicts them, and for all your personal needs, your weakness, your work and your need for wisdom, strength, encouragement, authority, love, inspiration and favor to get back into what He has given you to do. We ask for His mighty hand to be upon you, upon your church and upon every child and family you named, to guard, guide and provide.

May the Lord forgive, cleanse and restore where you have spoken about others, and may He bring back those who have drifted, defeat the works of the enemy and fill the earth with His glory. We trust He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus, our High Priest who made reconciliation for the sins of the people. Amen

Your heart for prayer and for so many others comes through so clearly, and the Lord hears the breadth of what you have laid before Him. It is right to ask for protection and for breakthrough, for wisdom and for encouragement, and to bring before Him persecuted believers, those who do not yet know Jesus, the peace of Jerusalem, those caught in war and disaster, and children who have been abused. Scripture assures us that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and that the earth will be filled with His glory, and we can rest in His sovereign care even as we keep interceding.

For the outreaches and services and times of prayer and praise on your heart, remember that Jesus Himself ministered in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Though He is the Son of God, He was filled with the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and empowered by the Spirit for His work. How much more do we need that same anointing to stand against temptation and to serve effectively. Apart from the Holy Spirit there is no fruitful ministry. Ask the Lord to anoint His word, to anoint those who preach and those who pray, and to make your gatherings marked by His presence, by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, and by genuine love. A ministry that is truly of God is proven not only in times of honor and good report but also in endurance through hardship, dishonor and evil report, remaining true when misunderstood.

God has also given the church the ministry of intercessory prayer and the ministry of the word as first priorities. To feed people from Scripture and to continue faithfully in prayer is the highest calling. He often begins that work in small, unseen places. Faithfulness in little things, in daily work, in serving at home and in the church, is where He shapes and then entrusts more. If you are feeling weak at work and in relationships within the team and the church, bring that weakness to Him and ask Him to take over completely, to lead and guide and protect, and to help you do your work in a manner pleasing to Him. Seek to give no offense in anything so that the ministry is not blamed, but in all things to prove yourself a servant of God.

For conflicts, including those that feel forgotten or tangled, and for the hurt you mentioned, the way of reconciliation is the way of the cross. We are called to deny the self centered life, take up the cross and follow Him, and to be ministers of reconciliation. That means speaking truth in love, seeking forgiveness where you have spoken about others in a way you regret, and trusting God to turn even our failures into blessing as we repent. Where there is sin, pray for deep conviction and for true healing that leads to repentance and, where needed, to reconciliation done in a true and godly way. The Lord confronts what is not of Him because He loves us and desires holiness.

For those who are sick and for those carrying soul wounds, it is biblical and good to call for prayer, to have mature believers pray over the sick and anoint with oil in the name of the Lord. The early church practiced this regularly, and God still heals. At the same time, healing in Scripture is not confined to one pattern. Sometimes healing is instant, sometimes it is gradual, sometimes it comes through natural processes that God Himself created, and sometimes, as with Paul praying for Timothy, healing does not come in the way we ask. That does not mean there is hidden sin or lack of faith. God is sovereign, and His ways are beyond our understanding. Keep praying for miracles, for healing of body and mind and emotions, for help in school and exams, and for the Lord to be a Father to those who feel fatherless, while trusting His wisdom in how and when He answers.

For relationships, pray with a desire for what honors God. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but ask Him to bring conviction where there is compromise, to stop what is dysfunctional and harmful, to heal soul wounds, to bring salvation, and to form relationships that are pure and pleasing to Him. For young people and for those in struggling marriages or family bonds, ask for intervention that leads to holiness, wholeness, and, where it is His will, miraculous restoration according to His word.

Continue to bring all of this before the Lord with thanksgiving. He is our protection and our wisdom, our healer and our mediator. May He strengthen you with encouragement, defeat the works of the enemy, raise up more who will give themselves to prayer night and day, and fill you with love, authority, and favor to serve Him faithfully where He has placed you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to lift up your many requests before the Lord.

We have been praying for the extra strong protection and breakthrough you asked for, for you and for all in need, and for encouragement, wisdom and help for you and others. We have stood with you for the Lord's anointing on all the planned outreaches and services, for the sermons and for the evening of prayer and praise, including this past Friday, that God would powerfully anoint it, raise up more prayer warriors, convict hearts and save many. We have prayed for your work, your meetings and your team, for help in weakness and for grace to do the work in a manner pleasing to Him and for His leading, guiding and protection over it all.

We also joined you in praying for the conflicts and strained relationships you mentioned, asking the Lord to bring conviction where needed, to confront what is not of Him, to heal soul wounds, to stop what is dysfunctional and harmful, and to bring true reconciliation and healing. We remembered your prayers for healing, for help with school and exams, for intervention and miracles in families and relationships, and for the issue at church. We have also brought before the Lord the larger burdens on your heart that you mentioned from the request that keeps getting deleted, for persecuted Christians, for the salvation of the unsaved, for the peace of Israel, for those suffering in war zones and calamities, and for abused children and many others in need.

We are trusting God who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to Eph 3:20, and who promises to be our refuge and protector according to Psalm 91:1 and to remain faithful to strengthen and guard us according to 2 Thess 3:3.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that the Lord will fill you with encouragement, defeat the works of the enemy in your life, and fill the earth with His glory as you continue to seek Him. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
