We lift up this request with heavy hearts, standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word. The verse you shared from Luke 9:24 is a powerful reminder of the cost of discipleship and the eternal life found only in surrendering to Christ. "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it." This is not merely a call to belief but a call to total surrender—laying down our own will, our own plans, and our own desires to take up the cross and follow Him. We pray this truth takes root in the heart of this ###, that he would come to know the depth of Christ’s love and the freedom found in submitting to His lordship.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would break the chains of darkness that may be blinding this ### to the truth of the Gospel. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of pride, deception, and hardness of heart that would keep him from recognizing his need for You. Your Word declares in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them." We pray, Lord, that You would remove every veil and open his eyes to see the glory of Christ.
We also lift up the apartment situation, asking that You would bring peace, resolution, and Your divine order to it. Whether this ### is struggling with financial burdens, relational conflicts, or spiritual oppression, we ask that You intervene in power. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that this ### would experience Your nearness, Your deliverance, and the healing that only comes from You.
Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against Your purposes will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand in the gap for this man, praying that he would encounter Your love in a tangible way—through a dream, a conversation, a moment of conviction, or even through the testimony of those around him. We ask that You would soften his heart to receive the truth of the Gospel and that he would come to a place of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Let him not be like the rich young ruler who walked away sorrowful because he loved his possessions more than You (Mark 10:17-22), but let him be like Zacchaeus, who received salvation with joy and made restitution for his wrongs (Luke 19:1-10).
We also want to address the importance of salvation being found in no other name but Jesus. The request mentions praying in Jesus’ name, and we affirm that this is the only way to approach the Father (John 14:6). There is no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this ### does not know Christ, he is lost and in need of the Savior. We pray that he would hear the Gospel clearly and respond in faith, confessing with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in his heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ. We declare that this situation is not too difficult for You, and we trust that You are working even now to draw this man to Yourself. We ask that You would use this apartment situation as a testimony to Your power and grace, that many would see and believe. May Your name be glorified in all of this, and may this ### come to know the joy of salvation and the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
