We join with you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this person has caused. It is good that you have come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the throne of grace and the power to overcome the schemes of the enemy. As Scripture declares, *"If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:14, WEB). Your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus is a testament to your trust in His authority, and we stand with you in this spiritual battle.
The Word of God assures us that He is our refuge and deliverer, a strong tower against those who seek to bring harm. *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble"* (Psalm 9:9, WEB). If this person is causing division, temptation, or spiritual danger, we must also consider the wisdom of Scripture, which warns us, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). While we pray for their removal, we also pray for their salvation if they do not know Christ, for our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12).
Yet, we must also examine our own hearts in this matter. Are we seeking their removal out of bitterness, or are we seeking God’s protection and peace? The Lord calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), but this does not mean we must tolerate ongoing harm or unrepentant sin in our lives. There is a time to set boundaries, to walk away, and to trust God to act on our behalf. *"Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it"* (Psalm 34:14, WEB). If this person is leading you into sin, causing you to stumble, or refusing to repent of harmful behavior, it is right to pray for their influence to be broken and for God to create distance.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who is seeking deliverance from a harmful presence in their life. Lord, You see the pain, the struggle, and the spiritual danger this person has brought. We ask that You, in Your sovereign power, remove this individual from their circles—whether by conviction, by circumstance, or by Your divine intervention. Break every ungodly tie, every influence of the enemy, and every scheme that seeks to harm Your child. Surround them with godly relationships that build them up in faith and protect them from further hurt.
If this person does not know You, Lord, we pray for their salvation. Soften their heart to repentance, and let them encounter Your truth. But if they refuse to turn from their ways, we ask that You sever this connection completely. Give Your child the strength to set boundaries, the wisdom to recognize danger, and the peace that comes from trusting in You. Let them walk in freedom, unshaken by the enemy’s attacks, for *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB).
Father, we also ask that You heal any wounds this person has caused—emotional, spiritual, or otherwise. Restore what has been broken, and fill Your child with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. Let them experience Your protection as a shield around them, knowing that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We declare this in the powerful name of Jesus, who has overcome the world. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your peace reign in this situation. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Stay rooted in Scripture, for it is your sword and your lamp (Ephesians 6:17, Psalm 119:105). If this person has been a stumbling block in your walk with Christ, use this time to draw closer to Him. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB). Trust that the Lord is working, even when you cannot see it. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay steadfast, and do not lose heart.
