We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this person has caused. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He calls us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7), and He promises to deliver the righteous from their afflictions (Psalm 34:19).
It is clear you are seeking relief from someone who has brought distress into your life, and we commend you for turning to the Lord in this matter. However, we must also encourage you to examine your heart and motives. Are you seeking this removal out of a desire for peace and righteousness, or is there bitterness or unforgiveness lingering? Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean you must endure harm or remain in a toxic situation, but it does call us to release any resentment and trust God’s justice and timing.
If this person is indeed causing genuine harm—whether spiritually, emotionally, or physically—we pray that the Lord would intervene mightily. Proverbs 22:10 tells us to "Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop." We ask the Lord to remove this individual from your life and circles if it is His will, and to surround you with godly influences that build you up in faith. May He also guard your heart from any lingering pain or anger, filling you instead with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
At the same time, we urge you to seek wisdom in how to handle this situation biblically. If this is a fellow believer, have you followed the steps Jesus outlines in Matthew 18:15-17 to address the issue with humility and grace? If the harm is severe or ongoing, it may also be wise to seek counsel from a trusted pastor or elder in your church. They can provide guidance and support as you navigate this trial.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister/brother who is burdened by the presence of a harmful individual. Lord, You know the heart of this person and the pain they have caused. We ask that You would intervene, Lord—remove this individual from their life if it aligns with Your will. Break every ungodly tie and bring an end to the harm they have inflicted. Surround our sister/brother with Your protection, peace, and godly relationships that honor You.
Father, we also ask that You would soften their heart toward this person, if there is any bitterness or unforgiveness. Help them to release this burden to You, trusting in Your justice and mercy. Fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and grant them the wisdom to know how to move forward in a way that glorifies You.
We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to bring division, pain, or confusion. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your name be glorified in this situation. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will fight for you (Exodus 14:14). Trust in Him, seek His wisdom, and lean on His strength as you walk through this season. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
