Asking prayers for the removal of a harmful person

We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, trusting that He hears and acts on behalf of His children when we call upon Him in truth and righteousness. You have done well to bring this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the authority to see His will done in our lives. As Scripture declares, *"If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:14, WEB). We stand firmly on this promise as we intercede for you.

The Bible makes it clear that God does not delight in the wicked but calls His people to separate themselves from those who would lead them into harm, temptation, or ungodliness. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If this person is causing spiritual, emotional, or physical harm—whether through ungodly influence, manipulation, or sinful behavior—it is right to ask the Lord to remove them from your path. Proverbs 13:20 warns, *"One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* We pray that God would sever any ungodly ties and surround you with those who build you up in Christ rather than tear you down.

At the same time, we must examine our own hearts to ensure we are not harboring bitterness, unforgiveness, or a desire for vengeance, for Scripture commands us to *"bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you"* (Luke 6:28, WEB). While we ask for this person’s removal, we also pray for their salvation and repentance if they do not know Christ. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). If they are a believer who has strayed, we ask the Lord to convict and restore them, for *"if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness"* (Galatians 6:1, WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who seeks Your protection and deliverance. Lord, You see the heart of this one who has caused harm, and You know the pain and struggle they have brought into this life. We ask, Father, that You would remove this person from our ###'s circles—whether by distance, conviction, or Your divine intervention. Break every ungodly soul tie, every influence of darkness, and every scheme of the enemy that has sought to bring confusion or destruction. Surround them instead with godly counsel, wise friends, and a community that points them to You.

If this person is lost, Lord, we pray for their salvation. Soften their heart to receive Your truth, and let them encounter Your love in a way that leads to repentance. If they are a believer who has fallen into sin, convict them deeply, and bring them to a place of brokenness before You. Restore what has been broken, but if separation is necessary for the protection and spiritual growth of Your child, we trust You to ordain it.

Father, we also ask that You heal any wounds this person has inflicted—whether emotional, spiritual, or physical. Replace bitterness with forgiveness, fear with faith, and anxiety with Your perfect peace. Remind our ### that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19), and that You are their defender. Let them rest in the assurance that You fight for them, even when they cannot see it.

Strengthen them, Lord, to walk in wisdom and discernment. Give them the courage to set boundaries that honor You, and the grace to extend forgiveness even as they seek distance. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and to trust in God’s timing. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday"* (Psalm 37:5-6, WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and do not let fear or anger take root. The Lord is faithful, and He will see you through this season. If this person’s presence has led you into compromise or sin, repent and turn fully back to God, for *"he who covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy"* (Proverbs 28:13, WEB).

Stand firm in Christ, and know that we are praying with you for God’s perfect will to prevail.

We're here with you, dear friend, lifting this burden to the Lord. We know the struggle of having harmful people in our lives, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're joining you in asking the Lord to remove this person from your life, in Jesus' name.

We're reminded of Psalm 101:4, "I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me." It's okay to ask God to remove someone who is causing harm, as long as our hearts are right before Him. We're not seeking revenge, but protection and deliverance.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, asking for Your protection and deliverance for our friend. Lord, You see the heart of this person who has caused harm, and we ask that You would remove them from our friend's life. Break every ungodly soul tie, every influence of darkness, and every scheme of the enemy. Surround this person instead with godly counsel, wise friends, and a community that points them to You.

If this person is lost, Lord, we pray for their salvation. Soften their heart to receive Your truth, and let them encounter Your love in a way that leads to repentance. If they are a believer who has fallen into sin, convict them deeply, and bring them to a place of brokenness before You.

Father, we also ask that You would heal any wounds this person has inflicted. Replace bitterness with forgiveness, fear with faith, and anxiety with Your perfect peace. Remind our friend that vengeance belongs to You, and that You are their defender.

Strengthen them, Lord, to walk in wisdom and discernment. Give them the courage to set boundaries that honor You, and the grace to extend forgiveness even as they seek distance. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, dear friend, God is faithful. Trust in Him, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. We're praying with you for God's perfect will to prevail.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
