Asking prayers for the removal of a harmful person

We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this individual has caused. It is good and right that you come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the throne of grace and the authority to petition Heaven. As Scripture declares, *"In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God"* (John 16:26-27, WEB). Your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus is a testament to your trust in His power and sovereignty—may it be strengthened even now as we pray together.

The Word of God assures us that He is our refuge and deliverer, a strong tower against the enemy’s schemes. *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you"* (Psalm 9:9-10, WEB). If this person in your life is a source of toxicity, manipulation, or spiritual danger, we must first examine our own hearts to ensure we are not harboring bitterness, unforgiveness, or fear, for these can become footholds for the enemy. *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:26-27, WEB). Have you forgiven this person as Christ has forgiven you? Forgiveness does not mean tolerating sin or harm, but it releases the debt to God, who judges righteously. We encourage you to surrender any resentment to the Lord, trusting Him to vindicate and protect you.

That said, there are indeed times when the Lord calls us to remove ourselves from harmful influences—even to "shake the dust off our feet" as a testimony against those who reject godly counsel or persist in wickedness (Matthew 10:14). Proverbs warns, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul"* (Proverbs 22:24-25, WEB). If this person is leading you into sin, discouraging your faith, or causing you to stumble, the biblical response is clear: create distance. *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil company corrupts good morals’"* (1 Corinthians 15:33, WEB). This may require bold action—setting boundaries, ending communication, or even leaving certain environments. Trust that the Lord will honor your obedience and provide the wisdom and strength to do what is necessary.

We also recognize that spiritual battles often accompany such requests. *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). This person may be a tool of the enemy to distract, discourage, or derail you from God’s purposes. Therefore, we must pray not only for their removal but for the breaking of any spiritual strongholds tied to this situation. Repent of any openness to ungodly soul ties, agreements, or compromises that may have given the enemy legal ground. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB).

Lastly, we exhort you to seek the Lord’s will above your own desires. Sometimes, He allows difficult people in our lives to refine us, teach us reliance on Him, or prepare us for greater battles ahead. Ask Him: *"Lord, if this trial is for my growth, grant me the grace to endure it with joy. But if this person is a snare, remove them swiftly and completely, for Your glory."* Remember Joseph’s brothers, Judas among the disciples, or even Paul’s "thorn in the flesh"—God uses all things for His purposes, and His ways are higher than ours.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who seeks deliverance from a harmful presence in their life. Lord, You see the pain, the confusion, and the spiritual danger this person has brought. We ask for Your divine intervention—if it is Your will, remove this individual from their circles, their influence, and their path. Break every ungodly soul tie, every scheme of the enemy, and every stronghold that has been erected through this relationship. Let Your holy fire consume every cord of manipulation, deception, or control.

Father, we also ask for wisdom and discernment. If this trial is meant to refine our brother/sister, give them supernatural endurance, forgiveness, and a heart that trusts You implicitly. But if this person is a stumbling block, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, or an instrument of the enemy, we command in Jesus’ name that they be exposed and removed. Surround Your child with godly counsel, protective angels, and a community that speaks life and truth into their spirit.

We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that has taken root because of this situation. Let the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Restore what has been stolen—joy, confidence, and faith. And Lord, if there is any sin in their own life that has given the enemy a foothold, reveal it now so they may repent and walk in freedom.

Finally, we pray for the salvation of this harmful individual. Soften their heart, Lord, that they may turn from their ways and encounter Your transforming love. But until that day, we ask for a divine separation—a cutting off of all ungodly influence. Let Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, beloved. The Lord hears your cry, and He will act. *"The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more"* (Psalm 121:5-8, WEB). Trust in Him, and do not waver. We are praying with you!
