We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this individual has caused. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and He calls us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). It is clear that this person’s presence has brought distress, and we stand with you in asking the Lord to intervene, trusting in His perfect will and timing.
The Bible teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), but it also calls us to wisdom and discernment in our relationships. Proverbs 13:20 warns, *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* If this person is leading you into sin, causing spiritual or emotional harm, or disrupting your peace in Christ, it is right to seek God’s protection and deliverance from their influence. We must also examine our own hearts, ensuring that we are not harboring bitterness or unforgiveness, for the Lord commands us in Ephesians 4:31-32: *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."*
At the same time, we must recognize that God sometimes uses difficult people to refine us, teach us reliance on Him, or expose areas in our lives that need His healing. James 1:2-4 tells us, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* So while we pray for removal, we also ask the Lord to use this situation for His glory and your growth in Christlikeness.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened by the harmful presence of this individual. Lord, You see the pain, the struggle, and the toll this has taken on their heart and spirit. We ask You, in Your mercy and sovereignty, to remove this person from their life and circles if it is Your will. Close the doors that need to be closed, Lord, and open the ones that lead to Your peace and righteousness. Surround our brother/sister with godly influences, people who will encourage them in faith and walk alongside them in holiness.
Father, we also ask that You guard their heart from bitterness, resentment, or fear. Fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and grant them the grace to forgive as You have forgiven us in Christ. If there is any lesson You desire to teach them through this trial, reveal it to them gently and clearly, and give them the strength to walk in obedience.
We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to use this person to bring division, doubt, or destruction. Lord, let Your light expose every dark corner and let Your truth prevail. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in Your promise to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Finally, Father, we ask that You fill the void left by this removal with Your presence, Your peace, and Your people. Let this season be one of healing, restoration, and deeper dependence on You. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s face in this matter. Spend time in His Word, especially in the Psalms, where David often cried out to God for deliverance from his enemies. Trust that the Lord hears you and is at work, even when you cannot see it. Cling to Jeremiah 29:11, which reminds us, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* Stay rooted in prayer, and do not hesitate to reach out to your church community for support and accountability. You are not alone in this—God is with you, and we are standing with you in faith.
