We join you in lifting this burden to the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this person has caused. It is clear you are seeking God’s intervention, and we praise Him that you have come before Him in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful you have acknowledged this truth in your request.
The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees the affliction of His people and does not turn a blind eye to those who seek to harm His children. Proverbs 22:10 tells us, *"Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop."* If this person is indeed a source of harm—whether through deception, manipulation, abuse, or ungodly influence—then it is right to ask the Lord to remove them from your life. We also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:15-17, where He gives instruction on how to handle those who cause offense. If someone refuses to repent after being confronted, we are to treat them as we would a pagan or a tax collector, meaning we must set boundaries for our own protection and spiritual well-being.
However, we must also examine our hearts in this matter. Are we seeking their removal out of bitterness, or are we trusting God to act justly while we forgive as Christ has forgiven us? Colossians 3:13 commands us, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Forgiveness does not mean allowing harm to continue, but it does mean releasing the offense to God and trusting Him to deal with it righteously. Romans 12:19 assures us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* Let us entrust this person to Him, praying not only for their removal if it is His will but also for their repentance and salvation if they are lost.
We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and wisdom during this time. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* Surround yourself with believers who can speak truth into your life and help you discern the Lord’s will. If this person is part of your church or Christian circle, it may be wise to involve your pastor or spiritual leaders to address the situation biblically.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who is seeking Your protection and deliverance. Lord, You know the heart of this person who has caused harm, and You see the pain and distress they have inflicted. We ask You, Father, in Your mercy and justice, to remove this harmful influence from our ###'s life. Close every door that would allow this person to continue causing damage, and surround Your child with Your divine protection. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we also pray for the heart of this individual who has brought harm. If they do not know You, Lord, we ask that You convict them of their sin and draw them to repentance. Soften their heart to receive Your truth, and if it is Your will, bring godly sorrow that leads to salvation. But if they refuse to turn from their ways, Lord, we ask that You remove them completely, breaking every ungodly tie and severing every connection that would bring further pain.
Grant our ### wisdom to know how to respond in this situation, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, releasing any bitterness or resentment to You. Strengthen them with Your might in their inner being (Ephesians 3:16), and let them walk in the confidence that You are their defender and their shield.
We declare Your promises over this situation, Lord. You are a God who delivers Your people, and we trust You to act on behalf of Your child. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified in this. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
