We come before the Lord with you in this request, lifting up your heart’s cry for deliverance from this harmful influence in your life. It is clear you are seeking God’s intervention, and we stand with you in agreement, for where two or more are gathered in His name, He is in the midst (Matthew 18:20). We praise you for invoking the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). It is only by His authority that we can boldly approach the throne of grace and ask for His divine protection and intervention.
The Bible assures us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If this person is causing spiritual, emotional, or physical harm, we must trust that the Lord sees and knows all things. He is just, and He will act on behalf of His children. Proverbs 16:7 tells us, *"When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him."* Yet there are times when separation is necessary for our well-being and spiritual growth. In such cases, we can take comfort in Psalm 34:17-19, which says, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."*
We also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44, where He commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. While this may seem difficult, especially in moments of pain, we are called to release bitterness and trust God to handle the situation in His perfect way. This does not mean we must tolerate abuse or harmful behavior. Instead, we can pray for this person’s heart to be changed while also asking God to create healthy boundaries or even complete separation if that aligns with His will.
If this person is leading you into sin, tempting you away from God’s truth, or causing you to stumble, we must remember the warning in 1 Corinthians 15:33: *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* Sometimes, the most loving thing we can do—for ourselves and even for the other person—is to step away and trust God to work in both of your lives separately.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your divine intervention. Lord, You know the heart of the one they are asking to be removed from their life. You see the pain, the struggle, and the harm that has been caused. We ask that You act swiftly, Lord, according to Your perfect will. If it is Your desire for this person to be removed from their life, we pray that You would orchestrate the circumstances to bring about a clean and complete separation. Close every door that needs to be closed and open the right doors for godly relationships that will encourage and build up our brother/sister in Christ.
Father, we also pray for the heart of this individual. If they are acting out of ignorance, hurt, or rebellion, we ask that You would convict them by Your Holy Spirit. Softening their heart to repentance and turn toward You. If they are being used by the enemy to bring harm, we rebuke every scheme of Satan in Jesus’ name and declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask that You surround our brother/sister with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Fill them with Your strength and wisdom as they navigate this season. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us, releasing any bitterness or resentment that may try to take root. Guide them into godly relationships that honor You and reflect Your love.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Stay rooted in Scripture, and surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and uplift you. If this person has been a source of temptation—whether toward ungodly relationships, compromise, or any form of sin—we urge you to flee from it, as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:12). The Lord is faithful, and He will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Finally, we leave you with the promise of Psalm 37:4-6: *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day."* Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust that He is working all things for your good and His glory.
