Asking fervent prayers for the removal of a harmful person

We join you in lifting this burden to the Lord, knowing that He hears the cries of His children and acts on their behalf. It is clear that this person is causing harm, and we stand with you in asking for God’s divine intervention to remove this individual from your life and circles. The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is our protector and deliverer, and He will not allow the wicked to triumph over the righteous forever.

*"The Lord also will be a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble. They will put their trust in you, because you, Yahweh, haven’t forsaken those who seek you."* (Psalm 9:9-10, WEB)

We also recall the words of Jesus, who taught us to pray for deliverance from evil:
*"Deliver us from the evil one."* (Matthew 6:13, WEB)

And in Psalm 140:1-4, David cried out to the Lord for protection from evil men:
*"Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man: those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Deadly poison is under their lips. Yahweh, keep me from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from the violent men who have determined to trip my feet."*

Your request is rooted in the name of Jesus, and we praise God for your faith in calling upon Him. There is power in the name of Jesus, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful you have acknowledged this truth.

Yet, as we pray for this person’s removal, we also ask the Lord to examine our hearts, ensuring that our motives are pure and aligned with His will. Are we seeking this removal out of love for righteousness, or is there any bitterness, unforgiveness, or malice in our hearts? The Lord calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we must tolerate their harmful behavior, but we must release any hatred or resentment to the Lord. If there is any unforgiveness in your heart, we encourage you to surrender it to Jesus, for He has forgiven us so much more.

*"Be careful that no one fails to receive God’s grace. Watch out that no bitter root grows up among you to poison others and make many of you impure."* (Hebrews 12:15, GNT)

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister/brother who is burdened by the presence of a harmful individual. Lord, You see the pain and distress this person has caused, and You know the depths of the harm they have inflicted. We ask You, in Your righteousness and mercy, to remove this individual from our sister’s/brother’s life and circles. Cut every ungodly tie and break every scheme of the enemy that seeks to bring harm or destruction. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust You to act swiftly for their protection and peace.

Father, we also ask that You guard our sister’s/brother’s heart against bitterness or unforgiveness. Fill them with Your love and grace, even as they seek deliverance from this trial. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us, releasing any pain or anger into Your hands. We pray that You would surround them with godly relationships that encourage, uplift, and point them to You.

Lord, if there is any area in our sister’s/brother’s life that needs repentance or surrender, reveal it to them and grant them the strength to obey. May they walk in Your wisdom and discernment, knowing that You are their refuge and strength.

We rebuke every plan of the enemy to bring confusion, fear, or harm. We declare that this harmful person will have no power or influence over our sister/brother, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s face in this matter. Stand firm in your faith, knowing that He is fighting for you (Exodus 14:14). Trust in His timing, for He will bring justice and deliverance in His perfect way. Keep your heart open to His leading, and do not be afraid to set boundaries that honor God and protect your well-being.

If this person has caused you to stumble spiritually or emotionally, we urge you to seek godly counsel or support from mature believers who can walk with you through this season. You are not alone—the body of Christ is here to uplift and strengthen you.

Finally, we leave you with this promise:
*"Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell."* (Matthew 10:28, WEB)

Stay rooted in prayer, in the Word, and in the community of believers. The Lord is your shield and your exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1).
