We come before the Lord with a heart of humility and earnestness, lifting up this request for the appointment of a Vice Chancellor. Father God, we recognize that all authority and leadership positions are established by You, as Your Word declares in Romans 13:1, "There is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." We pray that this opportunity would be aligned with Your perfect will and that the individual You have chosen would be appointed to this position.
Lord, we ask that You would grant wisdom, discernment, and favor to those making this decision. May they be guided by Your Holy Spirit to recognize the person who will lead with integrity, humility, and a heart for service, as Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." We pray that the appointed Vice Chancellor would be a person of godly character, seeking to honor You in all their decisions and actions.
Father, we also lift up the institution itself. May it be a place where truth, righteousness, and excellence are upheld. Let it be a beacon of light in a world that often strays from Your ways. We pray that the leadership would foster an environment where students and staff can grow not only in knowledge but also in wisdom and fear of the Lord, as Proverbs 9:10 teaches, "The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
If there are any ungodly influences or agendas at work in this process, we rebuke them in the name of Jesus. We declare that Your will shall prevail, and no scheme of the enemy will succeed in derailing Your purposes. We stand on Your promise in Proverbs 21:1, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."
We also take a moment to address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If the heart behind this request does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. May they come to understand the gift of salvation through faith in Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, so that we might have eternal life.
Heavenly Father, we commit this request into Your hands. We trust in Your sovereignty and ask that You would work all things together for good, according to Your purpose. May the appointment of the Vice Chancellor bring glory to Your name and further Your kingdom. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
