Apetite

We join you in bringing this need before the Lord and we lift up your loved one together in Jesus' name, asking for restored health and appetite.

We understand the concern you feel when someone you love is not eating well, and we know our heavenly Father cares deeply for our bodies which He created. He sees every need and He is our healer and provider. Psalm 103:2-3 says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Psalm 107:9 reminds us, For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good. We also remember that our bodies are precious to Him, for 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are to glorify God in our body.

We also want to gently encourage you about the name by which we come to God. We noticed your request did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know Him is to believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in faith for forgiveness and eternal life. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear loved one to You. You know their body and their needs intimately, for Psalm 139:13 says You formed their inward parts. We ask that You would touch their body, restore their appetite, strengthen their health, and give them desire for nourishment that will sustain them. Let their body receive food well and be strengthened day by day. We pray for Your peace over this family, that worry would be replaced with trust, for Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also pray that You would grant wisdom to any doctors or caregivers involved and guide them to any underlying cause that needs attention. We ask that You would bless this loved one with health and wholeness, for 3 John 1:2 says, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. May Your will be done and may this be a testimony of Your goodness and care. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while also seeking wise medical counsel if this loss of appetite continues, as God often works through the wisdom He gives to physicians. Keep offering nourishing food with thankfulness, praying over each meal, and resting in His care, for Matthew 6:26 reminds us, See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they. He cares for you and for your loved one even more. Continue to bring this need to Him daily.

Thank you for sharing your concern for your loved one. Watching someone you love struggle to eat can leave you feeling helpless, and it matters that you are noticing and bringing this to the Lord.

We are holding you both in prayer as you walk through this. A change in appetite can have many different reasons, so alongside prayer we gently encourage you to make sure their doctor or care team knows what you are seeing, so they can offer guidance and support. If you notice other changes or your worry grows, reaching out promptly for professional input is a caring step.

In the days ahead it can help to keep a simple note of what you observe to share with those caring for them, and to keep offering steady, unpressured presence as you are able. You are showing love simply by staying attentive and interceding. We know this kind of waiting and watching can be tiring, and we pray you also find rest and encouragement as you support them.

Father, we lift this loved one to you and ask for your care over their body and strength. Give them comfort, give wisdom to those caring for them, and give peace to the family who is watching and worrying. Lead the next steps clearly and let your nearness be felt each day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We have heard your request concerning your loved one's appetite and we join you in bringing this need before the Lord who is the giver of all health and strength.

It is a great blessing when food and appetite meet together, and we are taught to be thankful when the Lord gives both the meat and the mouth for it. When He sends the mouth He will send meat for it, and when He gives the appetite He will provide that which satisfies. We pray that He will graciously restore and increase a healthy appetite, and give strength to the body that has been weakened.

We remember that Jesus is the great Physician, and that healing virtue is found in Him. His leaves are for healing, and His touch lifts the sick and restores them. As you wait upon Him, ask also for the wisdom to use the means He has provided through proper care and nourishment, trusting that pardon and healing flow from the same hand of mercy.

Sometimes the sick have little desire for what would nourish them, or a craving for what would harm them. Our prayer is not only for a return of bodily appetite, but for a wholesome appetite for what truly gives life and health, and above all for a spiritual appetite for Christ Himself, who satisfies all who come to Him by faith.

Let us pray together. O Lord, our heavenly Father, look in compassion upon this dear one whose appetite has failed. Thou knowest the frame of our bodies and Thou art the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings. We ask Thee to lay Thy healing hand upon this loved one, to renew appetite and strength, to restore health, and to cause food to be received with thankfulness and to nourish the body. Feed the soul also with the bread of life, that there may be both life and health in Thee. Grant wisdom to those who care for this need, and give peace to those who watch and pray. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who heals the broken and binds up their wounds. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request concerning appetite and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in prayer.

We know that God cares for the body as well as the soul, for He formed us and He sustains us daily with His provision. As it has been said, when Christ touched the fevered body He not only quenched the fever but gave back perfect health at once, showing a power beyond that of any physician, for while physicians often need much time to restore strength, His healing is complete. So we trust His compassion still, and we ask Him to work according to His wisdom and mercy.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we thank You that You are our healer and our sustainer. We lift up this loved one to You and ask that You would restore health and strength, and grant a good and natural appetite for nourishment. Give wisdom to those who care for this person, help food to be received with thanksgiving and to bring strength to the body, and guard from all sickness and weakness. Above all, draw this dear one and this family closer to You, that in health and in need they may seek You and find comfort in Your presence. We ask this trusting in Your goodness and love.

We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to give thanks for daily mercies, and also to make good use of the help that physicians and proper care can provide, for God often works through these means to deliver from disease and restore to health. Do not grow weary in asking, for as we have often taught, even when fruit seems delayed, God is at work, and many who have heard and prayed long have afterward shown abundant fruit at once.

We rejoice with you in hope, as we rejoice to hear of the health of those we love, and we will continue to remember this need before the Lord. May He grant you peace, strengthen your faith, and provide what is needed according to His perfect will. Amen.
