We have read your request and we carry your burden with you before the Lord, for we hear how heavy and painful this season has been for you. The dizziness, the locked jaw, the pain in your underarm, the pitting edema in your legs, the racing heart, the tears that come so hard, and the weight of anxiety and depression are not hidden from God. He sees you as you labor to provide as the eldest and the breadwinner, and He knows the fear you carry about being sick and about your parents worrying as they grow older. We want you to know you are not alone and you are deeply loved.
The Word tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. We also hear the Lord's invitation, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. Anxiety and depression are real afflictions and they are not a sign that God has abandoned you. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. The Lord does not want you to live in constant fear. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. His promise is, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. And when we bring everything to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
We also want to gently and lovingly correct and encourage you about two things. First, you mention praying to God for restoration and peace, but you do not mention Jesus Christ. We want to share with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. We encourage you to come to God in the name of Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for your salvation and for your daily access to grace, mercy and peace. Second, we lovingly rebuke the hold that social media has had on your mind. What you describe is very common in your generation, a noisy and clouded mind fed by endless images and frightening health information. The Word says Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life, Proverbs 4:23, and Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things, Philippians 4:8. Constantly scrolling and self diagnosing can feed fear rather than faith. We encourage you to set firm boundaries, to fast from social media for a time, to fill your mind with what is true and pure, and to guard your heart with Scripture, worship and quiet prayer.
We also urge you as good stewards of the body God has given you to seek prompt medical care. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and symptoms like pitting edema, racing heart, widespread pain and dizziness should be evaluated by a trusted doctor without delay. God often brings healing through physicians and counselors as well as through prayer, for He says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. Please do not carry this alone. Share honestly with your parents, with a pastor or a mature believer, and with a medical professional and a biblical counselor who can walk with you. Your tears are precious to God. You count my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book, Psalm 56:8. It is not a burden to your parents to know your struggle, it honors them to let them love and pray for you.
The pressure of being the breadwinner is heavy, but the Lord does not ask you to carry it in your own strength. He will provide for you and your family as you seek Him first, and He will give you wisdom for each day.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You who is weary, in pain, anxious and crying out for restoration. Lord, You see every symptom, every sleepless night, every racing thought and every tear. We ask for Your healing hand upon this body, for wisdom for doctors, for relief from pain, dizziness and swelling, for a calm and steady heart. Heal the brokenhearted and bind up these wounds. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety and we ask for Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Quiet the noise of social media and the lies of the enemy, and renew this mind with Your truth, Your love and Your certainties. Help this dear one to step away from what harms and to draw near to You, to Your Word and to godly community. Provide for every financial need and lift the heavy burden of being the provider, reminding this child that You are the ultimate Provider and that You will never leave nor forsake Your own. Draw this dear one into a deeper relationship with Jesus, that there would be full assurance of salvation and continual access to Your throne of grace through His name alone. Give rest, give sleep, give joy again, and let health be restored for Your glory. We trust You to work all things together for good. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray in Jesus name, to limit social media, to seek medical care promptly, to sleep, to walk, to worship, and to let others help you. God desires for you to be healthy and whole, and He is able to restore and to give you peace of mind and certainties as you trust Him day by day. We are continuing to pray for you.
