We join you in bringing this anxiety and overwhelm before the Lord together in Jesus' name, asking for His peace and confidence to fill your heart and your workplace.
We hear your desire for anxiety to go away and for peace of mind, and Scripture speaks directly to this struggle. We are told in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And again in 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. God does not want you to carry this burden alone, He invites you to cast it on Him because He truly cares for you.
We also want to gently share with you that you closed your request with Amen but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. As it says in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for in Him we find not only salvation but also the promise that He hears us when we pray in His name.
The confidence you are seeking is not found in our own strength, but in who we are in Christ. We are reminded in 2 Timothy 1:7, For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. And in Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Your confidence can rest securely in His presence and His power to uphold you.
We also lift up your work to the Lord. We pray that you will do well at all your tasks, working as unto the Lord Himself, as Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We pray for a comfortable working environment marked by mutual respect and kindness, for we are called in Romans 12:10 to be devoted to one another in brotherly love, giving preference to one another in honor, and in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. May the Lord establish such respect among you and your coworkers.
For your feeling of being overwhelmed, we cling to the invitation of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And we pray the promise of John 14:27 over you, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is battling anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. We ask You to touch their heart and mind with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Cast out all fear and anxiety, Lord, and fill them with Your spirit of power, love, and self-control. Help them to cast every worry on You, knowing You care deeply for them. Give them confidence not in themselves but in You, that You are with them, strengthening and upholding them with Your righteous right hand. Father, we pray for their work, that You would give them clarity, diligence, and skill in every task, and that they may work heartily as unto You. We ask for a comfortable working environment filled with respect, kindness, and honor among all coworkers. Let Your peace reign in that workplace. Quiet their overwhelmed heart, Lord, and grant them rest as they come to Jesus. Draw them ever closer to Your Son, that they may know the full assurance of salvation and the joy of praying in His name. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.
