We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up these burdens in faith, knowing that He hears and answers prayer according to His will. First, we acknowledge that anxiety is a very real struggle, but we also know that Scripture commands us not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present our requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one who is battling anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. Lord, we ask that You would calm their heart and mind, replacing fear with Your perfect peace. Strengthen their confidence in You, reminding them that they can do all things through Christ who gives them strength (Philippians 4:13). Father, we also pray for their work—grant them focus, wisdom, and excellence in all their tasks. Surround them with coworkers who respect one another and foster a comfortable, godly environment. May Your presence be tangible in their workplace, and may they be a light for Your glory.
Lord, we also bring before You the one who is in the hospital, growing weaker and not eating. We ask for Your healing touch, whether through miraculous restoration or through the skill of the medical team. Sustain them by Your grace, and if it is Your will, restore their strength. Comfort their family and friends as they watch and wait. We trust in Your mercy and declare that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Finally, Father, we ask for peace of mind for this beloved child of God. When the weight of life feels too heavy, remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they rest in the assurance that You are in control, and Your plans for them are good (Jeremiah 29:11).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in every situation. Amen.
