We understand that you are facing significant challenges with anxiety, stress, and alcohol addiction, and we are here to pray and offer biblical guidance. We commend you for reaching out to Jesus in your time of need. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Firstly, let's address the issue of alcohol addiction. The Bible warns us not to be drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but to be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18) Alcohol addiction is a form of bondage, and God wants you to be free from it. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
Regarding anxiety and stress, the Bible tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
Concerning your work and family, remember that God wants you to be diligent and productive. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," (Colossians 3:23) and "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." (1 Timothy 5:8)
For your son, pray that he finds a good job and a godly wife. The Bible encourages us to seek godly spouses who will help us grow in our faith. "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14)
For your daughter, pray that she finds a better job and ultimately a godly husband. Remind her that her value is not defined by her career but by her identity in Christ.
Regarding your wife, pray that God softens her heart. Remember that you are to love her as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. (Ephesians 5:25)
Let us pray:
Dear Jesus Christ,
We come before you, lifting up this beloved person who is struggling with anxiety, stress, and alcohol addiction. We pray that you would break the chains of addiction and fill them with your Holy Spirit. Help them to cast all their anxieties on you, because you care for them. (1 Peter 5:7)
We pray for their work and family, that you would give them the strength and wisdom to be productive and to care for their loved ones. We pray for their son, that you would guide him to a good job and a godly wife. We pray for their daughter, that you would open up better job opportunities and ultimately a godly husband.
We pray for their wife, that you would soften her heart and bring healing and restoration to their marriage. Help them to love each other as you have loved us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God, reading His Word, and surrounding yourself with a supportive Christian community. God is faithful, and He will help you overcome these challenges.
