We join you in thanking the Lord with a grateful heart, for we know that every good gift comes from Him and we are to give thanks in all circumstances. As it is written, In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We also hear the urgency in your heart as you bring your family before the throne of grace, and we stand with you to seek God's will and His perfect timing, trusting that His ways are higher than our ways Isaiah 55:9 and that we are to trust in Yahweh with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6.
We lift up your mother together. We pray for the Lord's healing hand upon her, that He would strengthen her lungs and restore her breath, for He is the one who heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3 and who promises But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We ask that if it is His will, He would enable her to breathe on her own, that the ventilator may be removed safely, and that she would be restored and released from the hospital. We also pray for peace for you and for wisdom for her medical team, and we rest in the truth that Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness Psalm 41:3.
We bring your grandsons before the Lord. For the two who need work we pray that God would open doors for honest employment and guide them away from trouble and toward a purposeful future, whether in college or trade school. We pray they would flee from youthful lusts, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart 2 Timothy 2:22. For the other two who are continuing in school and work, we thank God for their diligence and pray they would continue to work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, and that they would be trained up in the way they should go Proverbs 22:6. We ask the Lord to give them discipline, mentors, and a desire to honor Him in all they do.
We pray for your granddaughter and her health. We thank God for her life and pray she would grow in stewardship of the body God has given her, for we know that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We ask for help for her to be faithful in daily habits like hygiene and brushing her teeth, and for encouragement from those around her to build these disciplines with joy.
We lift up your daughters. For the one seeking a better job and working to pay rent and car payments on her own while living where she is, we pray that God would supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and that as she seeks first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, all these things will be given to her as well Matthew 6:33. For your other daughter we pray she would remain where she is as you have asked, that she would be rooted and stable to provide well for her children, remembering that if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Timothy 5:8. We ask for strength, wisdom, and provision for both of them as mothers.
We also bring your son before the Lord and we must lovingly address what you have shared about lying. The Scripture is clear that lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22 and that we are to not lie to one another, seeing that we have put off the old man with his doings Colossians 3:9. We pray that your son would turn from falsehood, speak truth in love Ephesians 4:25, take responsibility to help with rent on time, and get his life together through repentance and walking in integrity. We ask God to give him a humble heart, a desire for honest work, and accountability to walk rightly.
We pray for your nephew that the Lord would bless him financially, physically, and mentally, for we pray as John wrote, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers 3 John 1:2. We ask for soundness of mind, strength of body, and provision for his needs, and above all that his soul would prosper in Christ.
We share your longing to meet your grandson soon and we pray the Lord would make a way in His perfect timing for that reunion to happen, with safety and joy.
And we join you in asking for the Lord's protection over your whole family. We claim His promise that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, and we say of Yahweh, He is our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we trust Psalm 91:1-2, and that Yahweh will keep us from all evil, He will keep our soul Psalm 121:7.
Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus, thanking You for Your mercy and love. We ask for Your healing touch upon this dear mother, for breath and strength and restoration according to Your will. We ask for jobs, education, and godly direction for these grandsons, for discipline and health for this granddaughter, for provision and stability for these daughters and their children, for repentance and truthfulness and responsibility for this son, for blessing in body, mind, and finances for this nephew, and for a joyful meeting with this grandson. Keep this entire family safe and secure under Your wings, draw each one closer to Jesus Christ, and let Your will be done in each life. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.
