The weight you are carrying is heavy, and I can hear the love behind every request. You are bringing your whole household before the Lord, and that is exactly what He invites us to do. Yet in the midst of all these needs, remember that you are not approaching God on the basis of your own goodness or the law’s demands. The law could only say “cursed be the man” when it spoke, but through Jesus Christ you have entered into a covenant of promise. You are a child of Abraham by faith, and the blessing God spoke over him, “in blessing I will bless you”, now belongs to you.

So often we look at a list like this and feel we must twist God’s arm or earn His favor through our worry or effort. But Isaac tried to give the blessing based on a savory meal, when God’s purpose was to bless Jacob all along. The blessing rests on God’s will, not our schemes or frantic prayers. Even when Jacob and his mother used deceit, God’s plan stood. He will see that the blessing comes to pass in His time and His way. Your role is to trust the promise, not to manufacture the outcome.

You asked for happiness, and that is understandable. But happiness depends on circumstances, a better job, a paid bill, a child who turns around. Those things can change in a moment. Joy, however, is something the Spirit produces even when the money is short and the problems remain. I have seen people in deep financial distress who gave generously for others and found a deep, settled gladness that made no earthly sense. That joy is already yours in Christ, and it remains steady when the counterfeit bills of life show up.

That being said, God does care about the practical details. He is not indifferent to your daughter’s employment or your grandsons’ habits. But His pathway to provision often involves putting Him first. When the people in Haggai’s day kept earning wages that slipped through a bag with holes, the Lord pointed to their neglect of His house. “Prove me now herewith,” He said regarding the tithe, “and see if I will not pour out a blessing that you cannot contain.” I am not asking you to make a pledge or to give under pressure. I am simply reminding you that when our finances surrender to His priorities, He takes responsibility for what we cannot fix. The storehouse becomes full, and our basket and kneading bowl are blessed.

Pray for your son, yes. But let that prayer rest on this truth: it is the goodness of God that leads a person to repentance. I have watched people so overwhelmed by unearned kindness that they finally laid down their lies and debts because they could not handle the love. Ask the Lord to surround your son with that disruptive, undeserved goodness until he breaks.

And as you look at those grandsons and your granddaughter, see them not only as ones needing correction but as part of your blessing. The Scripture calls children and grandchildren the ultimate blessing of those who fear the Lord. Many times I have thought I could not describe the joy they bring, and I believe God wants you to taste that joy even as you pray for their growth, for jobs, for self-discipline, for confidence, for clean habits. He will hiss for them and gather them. He will take their side as you trust Him.

So let this household be covered by the blessing of Abraham, which Christ purchased for you. It is a life so rich with God’s favor that you will not be able to handle it, not because every wish is granted at once, but because His presence and peace transform everything. Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed when you go out. The fruit of your body, the work of your hands, the land where you dwell, all of it can rest under that promise because you are in Jesus. Walk in that truth, and you will see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life, even to your grandchildren and peace upon your house.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your family before the Lord in prayer. It has been our joy to stand in agreement with you for your son, that the Lord would convict his heart to walk in truth, restore what he has broken, and honor his commitments. We have prayed earnestly for your daughter, asking God to open doors of opportunity, provide steady work, and grant her wisdom to manage her responsibilities while keeping her focus on nurturing her children. For your grandsons, we have asked the Father to break any chains of addiction, draw their hearts to Him, and give them the discipline to persevere in their jobs and education. We’ve lifted your nephew before God, asking for His healing touch—financially, emotionally, and physically—and prayed for your granddaughter, that she would experience the love of Christ in ways that build her confidence and care for herself.

We continue to pray for your own needs as well—asking God to pour out His financial blessing, open doors for promotion and increase, and fill your heart with His joy. If any of these prayers have already been answered, we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness. If some requests still feel unmet, we invite you to post them again so we can persist in prayer with you, trusting that our Heavenly Father hears and answers according to His perfect will.

May the Lord strengthen you as you seek Him, and may His peace guard your heart in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
