We can quote many of the devils' traps to spiritually trap people, but one I can think of because many of my own loved ones have fallen for this, is that when a loved one dies, even the ones who didn't believe this before, all of a sudden they hop onto this belief that, every little movement, every little noise in the house, is the dead loved one trying to 'contact' them, which we who know the Truth know this is a lie. And that these "noises" and "images" of the dead loved one are in fact Satanically inspired. Yet because the person who lost the loved one "wants to" believe they didn't "really" lose the loved one, they plug into this garbage. And the devil, knowing the person's longing, sees an opportunity, and jumps on it. That's why they run to mediums, etc., and we know the Bible says this is an abomination. And the devil misleads through the TV, too--there's one show on where a person acts as a "go-between" between the dead person and their family. Little does the actress in this show realize that she's damning herself to Hell by portraying a deceptive spirit from the devil.
In my own family, my mother always believed this Satanic spirit, then of course my sister was like, "monkey see, monkey do," and followed. I have an aunt who used to scoff at that, but then since my uncle died a few years ago, she now became a "believer." The same with a neighbor of mine, since her husband died. I think this is an example of what the Bible calls "Having itching ears." The devil tells them what they would "like to" hear, and because they WANT TO believe it, they do. Them and the devil deserve each other. He takes advantage of their ignorance {and itching ears}, and they don't listen if someone like me tries to show them it's wrong, so they snap at the bait. We pray that these people see the Light. In the meantime, unless things change, I know that a lot of my loved ones will go to Hell.
