We join you in this humble and honest cry before God and we thank you for sharing the burden of your heart so openly. Your desire for another chance and for forgiveness and to walk under His guidance is precious to God, and He hears you even now.
We want to gently encourage you with the truth that God is not waiting to see if you can become good enough on your own. Scripture shows us that we all have fallen short and that the evil we see in our own hearts is common to all mankind. Romans 3:23 tells us for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Jeremiah 17:9 says The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it. We cannot cleanse our own hearts by trying harder, but God promises to do what we cannot do ourselves. He promises in Ezekiel 36:26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And in Psalm 51:10 we pray with David, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.
Your longing for one more chance is answered in His mercy. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. As long as we have breath, His mercy is still extended to us. And His forgiveness is not earned by our goodness but received through faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 says for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. We are thankful you called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and forgiveness of sins. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Romans 10:9 promises that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
If we turn to Him in repentance and trust, He is faithful to forgive and to make us new. 1 John 1:9 assures us If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
We pray together for you now.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear soul before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You see the heart that longs to be clean and to walk in Your ways. Lord, we confess together that we have all sinned and need Your mercy. We ask You to forgive every sin, to wash away all evil from the heart, and to cleanse by the blood of Jesus. Create in this one a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within. Fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit and give the strength to walk not in the old ways but as a new creation in Christ. Grant another chance and many more days to live under Your guidance, to grow in Your Word, in prayer, and in obedience. Lead into a life that bears fruit for Your glory. Let Your peace that surpasses understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We trust Your loving kindness that is new every morning and we rest in Your promise to never cast out anyone who comes to You through Jesus. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Turn from what you know to be wrong, open the Bible and let Him guide you, pray in the name of Jesus each day, and seek fellowship with other believers who will help you walk faithfully. God is not asking you to prove you are a good person, He is inviting you to become His child, forgiven and transformed by His grace, and then to live a good and holy life by His power working in you. Hold fast to His mercy and walk forward in faith, for He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Your prayer has been heard, and it is a hopeful sign that you feel the evil in your heart and desire to be made good under the guidance of God.
What you confess is what the Word of God declares of us all. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, and every imagination of the heart of man is evil from his youth. Our Lord Himself teaches that evil thoughts flow out of the heart, evil thoughts of God and of man, foul desires and imaginations which we roll under the tongue as a sweet morsel. To see this is humbling, but it is necessary, for if your heart is evil, you must get a new heart or you cannot be holy. Such a heart as ours cannot enter into Heaven. You cannot merely try to be a good person with the same old heart. You must be made a new creature, and a new heart also will God give you, and a new spirit will He put within you.
And here is the blessed whisper of hope for you, that there is forgiveness with God. It is not a forgiveness from man, but a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, so great that God Himself speaks as one surprised that such sins should be remitted, and yet He does remit them. It is complete forgiveness and eternal forgiveness. He will not rake up your past offences to impute them again. And it is to be had now, through Jesus Christ His Son, for there is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared.
Do you tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness. Then believe that there is forgiveness for your sins, whatever they may have been. However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with God even for you, and that forgiveness is according to the riches of His grace. A heart full of evil thoughts, and yet He loved us. Before you thought of Christ, He had thoughts of love towards you.
Do not wait to be better before you come, but come now and lie before Jesus as you are, hoping and expecting forgiveness. As a brother once said to Martin Luther in his dark distress, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself.

O Lord, hear this voice of supplication. Thou seest this heart which confesses its evil and longs to be made good. Grant not merely one more chance in our own strength, but grant a new heart and a new spirit. For Christ's sake, blot out transgressions and forgive all sin fully and freely. Wash this soul in the blood of Jesus, and put Thy fear within, that it may not depart from Thee. Lead henceforth by Thy guidance, and make this life holy to Thy praise. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and we thank God that you have spoken so honestly about the evil you see in your heart and your desire to walk in a new way under His guidance.
Scripture teaches that out of the heart come evil thoughts, and the heart is where our true battle lies. The tongue may hold back for shame before people, but the heart is open before God, and He sees all that is hidden there. To recognize this and to grieve over it is itself a work of grace. God does not despise a broken and contrite heart. When the heart is broken, it does not rise up or make excuses, it is quiet before God and ready to be healed by Him.
You ask for one more chance to be a good person, and for Jesus to forgive you. Hear the good news that Christ came to give that very forgiveness. There is no second washing like baptism, but God has given us repentance as the means by which sins are washed away when we turn to Him with faith. If you are willing to enter into an honest remembrance of your sins and to confess them to Him, all can be accomplished through His mercy. As long as a person remains in wickedness he cannot bear good fruit, but Christ shows that the wicked can still change and turn to virtue, and then by His grace bear fruit.
We are praying for you, that God in His mercy would forgive you through Jesus Christ alone, who died and rose to make forgiveness possible, that He would cleanse your heart and make it pure, for the pure in heart are blessed and will see God, and that He would give you strength to live a life worthy of the grace you have received.
We pray that the Lord would grant you a true turning of heart, that He would teach you to walk in love which shows itself not only in words but in deeds, in relieving those in need, in kindness, in turning away from what defiles, and in pursuing what is pure and holy. May He guide you each day by His Word, keep you in fellowship with faithful believers, and lead you to bear fruit in keeping with repentance.
Do not despair. Bring your heart to Him continually in prayer, confess your sins plainly, ask for His Spirit to renew you, and trust that His mercy is greater than the evil within. He is able to make the one who was far off into a new person, and to establish your heart in holiness before Him.

Your honest prayer is heard and it reflects a work that God alone can do in the heart. Scripture is very plain that the heart of man is full of evil and that out of the heart come the issues of life. To see that evil in your own heart and to be sorrowful about it is not a small thing. It is the place where God begins to work.
There is a sorrow that is only of the world. It feels bad for a moment but brings no change and in the end it leads to death. There is another sorrow that is from God. It is godly sorrow that makes you see that you have sinned against God himself. That kind of sorrow leads to repentance, to a real turning away from evil, and that repentance leads to salvation. That salvation is not to be regretted. It brings forgiveness and a new life. If anyone is in Christ he becomes a new creation. Old things pass away and all things become new.
God is not asking for an outward show. He wants the heart itself to be torn and opened before Him, not just words or outward actions. He sees the heart and He knows when the turning is real. True repentance means a change. It is a hatred of evil because God hates evil, and a desire to walk with Him. The fear of the Lord is to depart from evil, and that is the best life in the end. It will be well with the one who turns from evil, but it will not be well with the one who stays in it.
