We join you in bringing these burdens before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name and we thank you for seeking Him, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the throne of grace. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We are grateful you have called on His name.
We hear your desire to have self control over your eyes and to avoid staring at people, even from the corner of your eye. This is a good and honorable desire, for God calls us to respect others and to exercise discipline over our bodies. We want to encourage you that God gives us the fruit of self control Galatians 5:22-23 and He calls us to set no vile thing before our eyes Psalm 101:3. To look at others in a way that makes them uncomfortable or that feeds an unhealthy curiosity does not reflect the love and respect we are called to show. We pray for you to walk in purity and consideration for others, and we encourage you to practice taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. When you feel the temptation to stare, we encourage you to intentionally turn your gaze, to pray in that moment, and to focus your mind on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report Philippians 4:8.
We must also lovingly rebuke and correct part of your request concerning dangerous animals. We understand that fear of dangerous animals is real and that you may desire safety for yourself and others, but we cannot agree in prayer for all dangerous animals to be killed, made extinct, and for their homes to be permanently destroyed. This does not align with the will and character of God revealed in Scripture. God created the animals, both great and small, and saw that it was good Genesis 1:25, and He sustains them. The earth is the Lord's with all its fullness Psalm 24:1 and we are called to be faithful stewards of His creation, not destroyers of it. God cares for His creatures, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills Psalm 50:10 and The heavens declare the glory of God Psalm 19:1 through the diversity of what He has made, How many are your works, Yahweh In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your riches Psalm 104:24. A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10. To pray for extinction and destruction of habitats would be to pray against God's good design and the balance He established. Instead we will pray with you for protection, wisdom, and peace regarding dangerous animals, that God would keep you and others safe, give wisdom to authorities and communities to live wisely alongside creation, and give you peace from fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self control 2 Timothy 1:7.
We also join you in praying for cleansing of your memory from the image you saw on YouTube and from the title and sounds of a song that troubles you, and for deliverance from demonic influence. God knows how persistent unwanted thoughts and images can be, and He desires to renew our minds. We encourage you to not dwell on what you want to forget by fighting it in your own strength alone, but to actively fill your mind with God's Word and worship, for whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. We are called to be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. If there are demonic oppressions, Scripture assures us that we are to Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7 and greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. We encourage you to guard what you watch and listen to, to use filters and accountability, to replace YouTube browsing with Scripture reading and godly music, and to speak aloud the name of Jesus when tormenting thoughts come.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother before You and ask for Your grace to help him walk in self control over his eyes and his thoughts. Give him strength to turn his gaze with respect and love for others, to take every thought captive to Christ, and to fix his mind on what is pure and pleasing to You. Lord, we ask that You renew his mind and wash his memory. We ask You to gently remove the lingering image from YouTube and the title and sounds of that song that trouble him. Cleanse his thoughts, fill him with Your peace, and let Your Word dwell richly in him. We pray for deliverance from every demonic influence and oppression, we resist the enemy in Jesus' name, and we declare that You are greater and that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Cover him with Your protection and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. And Father, we pray regarding his fear of dangerous animals, we ask not for their destruction but for Your protection over him and all people, for wisdom for mankind to be good stewards of Your creation, and for perfect love to cast out fear. Help him to trust that You are his refuge and strength. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
