Your prayer has been heard, and we understand the pain that makes you want to forget these names and the memories tied to them. The desire for relief from thoughts that hurt is very human, and God sees that ache.

God does not always take away memory as we might ask, but He does promise to heal the heart and to bring peace to the mind that turns to Him. Like a physician who applies a painful remedy for a short time so that health may last, the Lord often works not by erasing the past, but by healing us within it, so that what was painful for a season can become a place where His grace and comfort are seen. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, and He renews our minds so we can remember without being wounded again.

We will pray for you that God will give you His peace, help you to release any bitterness or hurt, and teach you to entrust these two people and all that has happened into His hands.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our only Savior. You know the names and the memories that weigh heavy. We ask not simply for forgetting, but for healing. Wash this heart with Your mercy, quiet the thoughts that trouble, and fill this mind with Your peace that passes understanding. Help to forgive as You have forgiven, to release what needs to be released, and to remember with grace rather than pain. Guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus, renew it day by day through Your Word and Your Spirit, and lead into wholeness and hope. Give strength to walk forward, to seek what is holy and good, and to trust Your love to make all things new in its time. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

If these memories continue to burden you, keep bringing them to the Lord in prayer, stay rooted in Scripture, and consider sharing your struggle with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you, pray with you, and encourage you in the Lord.
