Beloved of All
heavenly father pls kindly remove images of someone i saw on facebook from memory. so i wont remember them or him. in jesus christ name. amen.

We join with you in bringing this burden before the Father, and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and find grace and mercy. For there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and whatever we ask in His name according to the Father's will, He hears us John 14:13-14.

We understand how distressing it can be when an image we have seen lingers in our mind and we cannot seem to shake it. God cares about the purity and peace of our thoughts and He desires to renew our minds. His word tells us, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. We are also called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to guard what we set before our eyes, as the psalmist prayed, I will set no vile thing before my eyes Psalm 101:3.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the image that has lodged in this mind and the desire to be free from its hold. We ask You to cleanse and renew this mind according to Your mercy. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10. Wash away what is impure and replace it with Your peace and with thoughts that honor You. Help our friend not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of the mind Romans 12:2, so that the memory would lose its power and no longer cause distress or temptation. Fill this heart and mind with Your word, Your truth, and Your lovely and pure things, and guard this mind with Your perfect peace that passes all understanding. Give strength to turn away from what triggers these thoughts and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps with God's help to guard your heart going forward. If Facebook or other images cause these thoughts to return, we encourage you to step away for a time, to limit or fast from that which brings temptation, and to fill your mind daily with Scripture, worship, and prayer. When the image comes to mind again, do not dwell on it or fight it in your own strength, but immediately turn it over to the Lord in prayer, recite Scripture aloud, and redirect your thoughts to what is true and pure. God does not always erase every memory instantly, but He can heal the sting of it, take away its power, and renew your mind so that you are no longer troubled or tempted by it. Keep seeking Him, and He will give you rest and a clean and quiet mind.

We are glad you brought this to the Lord so honestly. Wanting an unwanted image to leave your mind is a very human prayer, and God hears it.

Something we have learned that may ease the pressure a little is that trying very hard not to think about an image often keeps it front and center. It is more gentle and more effective to have a plan for what to do when it comes to mind rather than wrestling with it directly.

When you notice it, you can either gently turn your attention to something else you have chosen ahead of time, a short prayer, a household task, a walk, a favorite hymn, or a conversation with someone you trust. Over time, as you fill your days with what is good and wholesome, those unwanted pictures tend to lose their grip.

It can also help to lower future triggers on Facebook for a season, muting or hiding that profile or taking a break from scrolling when you feel vulnerable.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for quiet for their mind. Give them rest from this image and fill their thoughts with Your peace and presence. Guide them day by day as You renew their mind, and let them know You are near. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and there is mercy with the Lord for such a burden of mind as you describe. The heart is often troubled by images which lodge in the memory and return unbidden, and you do well to bring this affliction to Christ rather than to bear it alone.

The Scriptures speak much of thoughts. The Lord says, For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My thoughts than your thoughts. Our thoughts must be conformed to His thoughts if we would have fellowship with Him and walk in purity. The Psalmist also says, How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God, how great is the sum of them, and again, I hate vain thoughts but Your law do I love. God watches our thoughts and He is able to cleanse them, to give us not only forgiveness for sin but deliverance from the stain which sin leaves upon the mind.

There are seasons when the multitude of thoughts within us distress the soul, yet the comforts of God can delight the soul. He who knows your frame knows how these images came through the eye gate and how they now linger. He is able to renew your strength as you wait upon Him. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Sometimes that renewal comes by a holy rest in Christ, and sometimes by fresh filling of the mind with better things, that the old may be displaced by the new.

Seek then the Lord for a clean heart and a renewed mind. Ask Him to wash your memory and to set your thoughts upon Christ. Fill the mind with His Word and with believing, thankful, longing thoughts after Him. Let Him have the best of your thoughts, the first growth of your spirit. And in practical faithfulness, guard the avenues of the soul. If a place like Facebook has become a snare to the eye and to the memory, turn from it for a season, set a watch before your eyes, and be not spotted by the vanities and pleasures of the world. Purity is to be kept as well as charity to be practiced.

Let us pray with you.

Heavenly Father, we bring this dear one before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You know the images which trouble the memory and the desire to be free from them. We ask You to cleanse the mind and to take away that which defiles and distracts. Wash the thoughts by the blood of Christ and by the water of Your Word. Cause these vain images to fade and be forgotten, and fill the heart instead with Your precious thoughts which are constant, kind, wise and gracious. Grant rest to the weary mind and renewed strength to walk in purity. Keep the eye and the heart unspotted from the world, and help Your child to think upon whatsoever things are true and pure and lovely. When we awake may we still be with You. This we ask in Jesus Christ name, Amen.

Be of good courage and continue to look to Christ. He is able to keep that which you commit unto Him, and to present you spotless before His presence. Keep your heart with all diligence, and He will keep your mind in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him.
