We join you in bringing this burden before the Heavenly Father, and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5, and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have come in that precious name.
Even though names and details have been withheld for privacy, the Lord knows exactly who and what you are referring to, for He searches all hearts and understands every intent. We do not know the full situation, but He does, and we trust Him to act according to His perfect wisdom and will. We pray not from a spirit of vengeance or bitterness, but seeking what is holy and good and in line with His purposes, for we are taught This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us 1 John 5:14.
We understand the desire to have someone or something removed when it brings harm, confusion, temptation, or strife. The Word reminds us Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And we are also commanded to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us Matthew 5:44. So we examine our own hearts as we pray, asking God to remove any unforgiveness or anger in us as well, as the psalmist prayed Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts Psalm 139:23.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this need that weighs on this dear one’s heart. You know the person and the place and the thing that has been mentioned, even where it is hidden from our eyes. We ask first that Your will be done, for Your will is good and perfect. If there is any influence, person, or thing in that place that is not of You, that brings sin, harm, division, or darkness, we ask that You remove it by Your mighty hand. If a person needs to be moved or removed for protection, for peace, or for righteousness to prevail, we ask You to do so in Your timing and Your way. And if it is according to Your will to remove another as well, we submit that also to Your wisdom.
We pray also for each person involved, that You would work in their hearts. If there is sin, bring conviction and repentance. If there is hurt, bring healing. We ask that You set a guard over that place, that no weapon that is formed against Your people will prosper, and that Your peace which surpasses all understanding will guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask You to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6 to be real in this situation, guiding every step.
Father, we also pray for the one who has brought this request, that You would give discernment, patience, and grace. Help us not to lean on our own desire for control, but to wait on You, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Remove from us any root of bitterness, and fill us with love and forgiveness, even as You have forgiven us. Let Your light expose what needs to be exposed, and let Your hand remove what needs to be removed, and let what remains be built on righteousness and truth.
We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus’ name, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect love and justice. May Your name be glorified in this place and in these lives, and may Your peace reign. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen.
