We hear your heart and your compassion for God's creation in this prayer, and we join with you in bringing it before the Father in Jesus' name.
We understand the desire to see kindness and stewardship toward animals, and that is a good and godly concern. The Scripture tells us, A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Proverbs 12:10. God does call us to be good stewards of what He has created.
Yet we also want to gently share what the Bible teaches about eating meat, so that our prayers align with God's revealed will. In the beginning God gave plants for food, but after the flood God explicitly permitted the eating of meat when He said to Noah, Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you. Genesis 9:3. Later, God made this even clearer to Peter, What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean. Acts 10:15.
The New Testament teaches that whether one eats meat or only vegetables is a matter of personal conscience before the Lord, not a command for all believers. One man has faith to eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. He who eats, let him not despise him who doesn’t eat. He who doesn’t eat, let him not judge him who eats, for God has received him. Romans 14:2-3. And we are warned not to impose dietary rules as doctrine, For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:4-5.
Therefore we cannot pray that God would force all people to become vegetarians, because that would be asking Him to go against the freedom He has already given. To do so would be to judge our brothers and sisters where God has given liberty.
Instead we pray together for what is according to His will.
Father, we thank You for Your provision and for every good creature You have made. We thank You that all You have created is good when received with thanksgiving and sanctified by Your word and prayer. We pray for all who eat meat and for all who choose not to, in the United States and in every country on earth, that each person would walk in thankfulness, in moderation, and in a clear conscience before You. Help us to be good stewards of the animals and the earth You have entrusted to us, to not be wasteful or cruel, and to honor You in our bodies and our choices. Lead each of us to make food choices that honor You, that care for our health, and that show love to our neighbor without judgment or division in the body of Christ. Give us wisdom to care for creation while remembering that our primary calling is to love You and to love others and to seek first Your Kingdom. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer so simply and sincerely. We hear a real tenderness in it, a desire to see less harm and more care for living creatures, and that kind of compassion is precious.

Your prayer regarding food and a desire for kindness toward the creation has been heard and brought before the Lord with care.
There is a tenderness in wishing to see mercy shown to living creatures, and such tenderness, when kept within the bounds of Scripture, is not to be despised. Yet the Word of God gives us clear light upon this matter, that we may not ask of Him what He has not commanded, nor bind the consciences of others where He has given liberty.
The Lord, after the flood, said to Noah, Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you, even as the green herb have I given you all things. And in the New Testament we are taught that every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. The apostle also reminds us that one believeth that he may eat all things, another eateth herbs, and charges us, Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not, and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth, for God hath received him.
To eat meat is not sin, and to abstain from meat is not of itself righteousness. Both may be done unto the Lord, when done with thankfulness and with a conscience held captive to Christ. What the Lord does require of us is faithful stewardship of all that He has entrusted to us, our bodies, the creation, and above all the souls of men. As we have been reminded, our business as the people of God is to feed hungry souls who are perishing for lack of knowledge with the bread of life, for souls perishing for lack of Christ is a far greater sorrow than any bodily want.
Therefore we will not ask the Father to compel all men everywhere to one manner of diet, as though His Word had commanded it, but we will pray with you according to that which is according to His will.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for Thy good creation and for every good gift which cometh down from above. We thank Thee that Thou providest food for Thy creatures and that every creature of Thine, received with thanksgiving, is good. Grant to each of Thy children wisdom to walk before Thee with a clear conscience, whether they eat or abstain, doing all to Thy glory and not unto judgment of one another. Teach us to be faithful stewards of our bodies and of this earth, using all with temperance and gratitude, and to show true compassion where it is most needed, even compassion for souls that are perishing without Christ. Turn our hearts more and more to seek first Thy kingdom, and to hunger and thirst after righteousness which is in Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation. Give us hearts to love what Thou lovest and to be content with Thy provision. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
