We join you together in prayer before our heavenly Father and we thank you for bringing these burdens to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach God and be saved.

We lift up the elderly man you mentioned and the other man as well, and all the people in their lives. It is the heart of God that all should be saved, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:3-4. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We pray for their salvation and for their families and friends, that the Holy Spirit would draw them to repentance and faith in Jesus while there is still time, and that they would know the assurance of eternal life.

We also bring before the Lord the need for healing and deliverance from sickness for this elderly man. We know our God is merciful and compassionate, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3, and we trust His sovereign will over every body and every illness. We pray that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven James 5:15. We ask for the Lord's healing touch, for strength, for comfort, and for deliverance according to His perfect wisdom and mercy.

We hear your request concerning the case needing to be placed, and though the details are hidden from us they are known to God, and we ask that He would order the steps and open the right doors, for we know that the heart of man plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.

You asked for help to love those that are not friends, and this is a holy desire that reflects the character of Christ. Jesus said, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. We pray that God would pour His love into your heart by the Holy Spirit, so that you can love even those who are difficult to love, and that He would teach you to bless and to pray for them with sincerity.

You also asked that God would remove something from memory, a video from 2012, so that it will not be remembered. We understand the burden of unwanted memories and images that linger in the mind. God does not always erase the past but He renews our minds and helps us to take every thought captive. We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. And we are taught, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. We pray that the Lord would cleanse your mind, wash it with His Word, and give you peace, helping you to forget what lies behind and to press forward in Christ.

We pray together, Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this elderly man and the other man and all their loved ones, asking for salvation for every soul among them who does not yet know You. Have mercy and draw them to Yourself. We ask for healing and deliverance for the elderly man, lay Your hand upon him, relieve his sickness and restore him according to Your will. We ask for Your guidance over the case that needs placement, that it would be put where You desire. Fill our hearts with Your love so we may love even those who are not friendly toward us, and teach us to pray for them faithfully. Cleanse our minds and memories, remove what is harmful and impure, and renew our thoughts to dwell on what is pure and lovely and true. Let Your peace guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with each of these requests, to remain in prayer and in the Word, and to rest in His promise that He hears us when we ask according to His will.

We hear how much you are carrying to the Lord right now, for this elderly man and for the other man you mentioned, and for the people around each of them. To pray for their salvation, for healing and deliverance, and to ask God to help you love even those who are not friends, that is a faithful and caring way to intercede.

We join you in asking God to draw each of them to Himself and to show them His mercy, and to bring healing and relief according to His will. If this older man is dealing with ongoing sickness, we encourage you to make sure he is also getting good medical care alongside prayer, so he is supported in both ways.

We also hear how much you want that memory of the 2012 video to be gone, and not remembered by others either. We understand wanting it simply erased. Often God heals painful memories less by wiping them away instantly and more by meeting us in the pain of them and loosening their hold over time as we keep bringing them honestly to Him. If that memory continues to trouble you, it can help to share it quietly with a trusted pastor or counselor as you continue to pray.

For loving those who are not friends, one simple next step that often helps is to choose one person and pray for them by name each day this week, asking God to show you one small, appropriate kindness you could extend.

Father, we lift this elderly man and this other man and their families to You and ask for Your saving work in their lives and Your healing touch where there is sickness. Give wisdom to those caring for them, and give peace to the one praying, heal what is painful in memory, and teach us to love as You love. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we join our hearts with yours in seeking His mercy. It is a good and tender thing to carry an elderly man before the throne of grace, to plead that if he be yet without Christ he may be saved, and that those round about him who are yet strangers to the Saviour may be brought to know Him. Faith must look for salvation only from the Lord and then salvation will come to it. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved but the name of Jesus Christ, and we pray that He who is both King and Lawgiver may be received by each soul you have named, that they may hear His word and live.

We pray also for healing and deliverance from sickness. The Lord who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds is the same who healed all that had need of healing when He sojourned here, and the costly balm of His atonement has lost none of its power. We have seen in Scripture that pardon and healing flow together, for He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. We ask the Lord to lay His hand upon this aged brother, to preserve him from evil and to grant him, according to His wise and holy will, restoration of body if it be for His glory, and in all things the greater healing of the soul which is forgiveness through the blood of Christ.

For the other dear one you mention and for all connected with him, we make the same plea, that the Lord would have mercy and save. For the matter you commit to Him concerning a case to be put forward, we ask that the Lord who gathers His people and orders all their steps would direct it according to His providence and for the good of those concerned, giving wisdom to all who have to act therein.

You ask also for grace to love those that are not friends. This is the very work of the Spirit of Christ, who teaches us to love our enemies and to do good to them that despitefully use us. Apart from Him we cannot do it, for our hearts are cold, but when He sheds abroad His love in us we find power to love as He loved. Pray that He would give you a new heart in this, and that you may be an advocate for Him who has been an Advocate for you.

And concerning the memory of that video which troubles your mind, we pray that the Lord would cleanse and renew your mind. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and there is abundance of healing virtue even in the lesser things of Christ to purge the thoughts and to bring every thought into captivity to His obedience. Ask Him to set a watch before your eyes and to help you to think upon whatsoever things are pure and lovely, that the old image may fade and be replaced by the healing streams which flow from Calvary. He healeth the broken in heart and can give joy to the troubled countenance and calm the bosom that is agitated with grief.

May the Lord hear your cry, poor soul, though it be uttered in weakness. Cry from your very soul, God be merciful to me a sinner, and God will hear you. Look unto Him and be saved, and then declare His wonderful works with rejoicing, for His mercy endureth forever.
