We join with you in bringing this request before our heavenly Father in Jesus' name and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him alone we have access to the throne of grace.
We understand your desire to have these names, faces, and the title of that song removed from your memory. Sometimes things we have seen or heard linger in our minds and become a distraction or a burden, and we long for peace and a clean mind before the Lord. While we cannot simply will ourselves to forget, God is able to heal and renew our minds as we turn our thoughts to Him and fill our hearts with what honors Him.
Scripture encourages us in this. Romans 12:2 says do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. And Philippians 4:8 tells us whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things. We are also taught in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and in Isaiah 26:3 we are promised you will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
We also take comfort that God Himself creates in us a clean heart and renews a right spirit within us as Psalm 51:10 declares.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the names and images and the song that weighs on this mind and You know the desire to be free from remembering them. We ask that You would bring Your peace and healing over this mind. Wash away what is troubling and what does not edify, and help these memories to fade as they are replaced by Your truth. Create in this heart a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within. Help us to fix our thoughts on You, on Your Word, and on whatever is pure and lovely and praiseworthy. Guard our eyes and ears going forward and teach us to be careful what we allow before us, so that our minds may dwell on Christ. Fill this mind with Your Scriptures, with worship, and with thoughts that bring You glory, and keep this one in perfect peace as their trust remains in You. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring this to the Lord whenever those memories come to mind, not fighting them with frustration but gently turning your thoughts to Jesus, to prayer, and to Scripture. Memorize verses that are precious to you, listen to godly music and teaching that builds you up, and ask the Lord to fill the space in your mind with His presence. As you walk closely with Him daily, He is faithful to renew your mind and give you rest.

Your desire to be free from images and names and a song that clings to memory is a desire for that cleanness of thought which the Lord loves to give to His people, and He hears the cry of those who would have their minds stayed upon Him.
The Scriptures teach us that our thoughts are not as God's thoughts, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways. The carnal mind left to itself is enmity against God, and vain thoughts will lodge there unless grace dislodge them. Yet how precious are God's thoughts toward us in Christ, thoughts of love from everlasting, constant and tender and wise. When multitudinous thoughts crowd the soul, His comforts can still delight us, and He has promised that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
It is not only the putting out of what troubles you that is needed, but the putting in of what is holy. We are renewed in the spirit of our mind when we are transformed by the washing of the Word. Let Jerusalem come into your mind, as it is written, let the heavenly city and Christ who dwells there fill the chambers of your soul. Seek to cultivate thankful thoughts and believing thoughts and longing thoughts after Christ, for thoughts bear fruit, and the fruit of thoughts fixed upon Him is peace.

We ask Thee to cleanse and guard this mind by the blood of Christ and the power of Thy Holy Spirit. Take away the hold of these images and names and this song upon the memory, and grant relief from their return. Renew strength in the inner man, and help Thy child to turn from every vain thought to hate it and to love Thy law. Fill the mind with whatsoever things are true and pure and lovely, with Thy Word and with the hope of the Jerusalem above where Christ is. Teach this soul to watch over the gates of eye and ear, and to set the affections on things above, that when awaking, still it may be with Thee. Grant quietness, purity, and steadfastness, and let Thy comforts delight the soul in the multitude of its thoughts. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
