Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for this man and for the people in his life is a beautiful act of intercession, and God delights to hear it. Scripture teaches that Jesus Himself lives to intercede for us at the right hand of the Father, and that the Holy Spirit also helps us in prayer, even when we do not know how to pray as we should, bringing our needs before God according to His will. When you bring others before the Lord and ask for their salvation, you are joining in that same work of love.
The heart of that prayer rests on what God has already done. His love was shown not because we first loved Him, but because He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins. The name Jesus itself means the Lord is salvation, and He is able to save completely all who come to God through Him. His grace that brings salvation has been made known, and His invitation is open to anyone who will come. He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him in faith. Scripture reminds us that now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation, so it is right to keep praying and to keep asking God to draw this man and those around him to Himself, that they would confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead.
We will join you in praying that God would work in his heart and in the hearts of his family and friends, that He would open their eyes to their need for Christ, soften what is hard, and bring people and His Word across their path so they may hear and believe. Pray also for opportunity for you to speak of Christ with grace and truth when God opens the door.
We also bring your practical need before the Lord. He cares about the details of our daily lives, and He invites us to bring every concern to Him. We pray that God would provide for the repair of the driveway in a way that shows His provision and care, and that He would give you wisdom and peace as you trust Him for it.
May the Lord encourage you as you continue to pray, knowing that He hears, that He loves these people more than you do, and that He is faithful to save all who call upon the name of Jesus.
