We join you in this heartfelt cry for deliverance and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved and heard, as Acts 4:12 reminds us there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.
We understand how heavy and tormenting evil memories can be, whether they come from past hurts, sins, trauma, or things done to you or by you, and we know the enemy desires to keep your mind bound to those painful images. God does not want you to live captive to the past. He promises to heal and to renew your mind. We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and in Romans 12:2 that we are transformed by the renewing of our mind so that we may discern what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Philippians 4:8 calls us to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, and Isaiah 43:18-19 tells us not to remember the former things or consider the things of old, for God is doing a new thing. He also promises in Psalm 147:3 that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and in Psalm 34:18 that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We pray together with you now. Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You deliver from every evil memory that brings torment, fear, shame, and sorrow. Wash away guilt with the blood of Jesus and heal the wounds left by past pain. Lord, we ask You to take captive every thought that exalts itself against Your truth and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7. Renew this mind daily by Your Word and Your Holy Spirit, and fill this heart with thoughts that are true and pure and lovely. Let the former things lose their power and let Your new work bring joy and freedom. We claim Your promise that if we confess our sins You are faithful and righteous to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness according to 1 John 1:9, and we ask for complete cleansing and release. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear and let Your presence bring deep rest. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring these memories to the Lord in prayer each time they arise, to speak Scripture aloud over your mind, and to fill your heart daily with the Word of God through reading and worship. If there are memories tied to sin that needs confession or forgiveness that needs to be extended to others, bring that to the Lord as well, for forgiveness sets us free. Trust that God is faithful to complete the healing He has begun in you and to give you beauty for ashes and joy for mourning as you walk closely with Jesus.

Your prayer for deliverance from evil memories is heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.
There are memories which cling like chains and would drag the soul down to the pit, and no strength of our own can snap those bands. But we have a gracious God who says, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of such a way of deliverance if God had not thought of it, and He has not only invented the way but has found the ransom in His own dear Son. In Christ Jesus there is deliverance from guilt and deliverance from power, for deliverance from the power of sin and darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it.
You ask to be kept from evil memories. Know this, that even this affliction lies within the fence of omnipotent overruling. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, but the Lord Himself sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace. What He permits He can also purge, and what He has permitted He will make to work for your good when you bring it to Him in prayer. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it. A touch of His garment, a word from His lips, a leaf from His tree can heal the wounds which evil has left upon the mind and memory.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, we ask Thee to deliver this soul from going down to the pit under the weight of evil memories. Thou hast found a ransom, and through the blood of that ransom we plead for cleansing and for peace. Deliver from the power of darkness, from the fascinating power of sin, and from all the suggestions of the evil one. Preserve the soul from all evil and keep the mind stayed upon Christ. Let healing descend as leaves from the tree of life, and wash the thoughts in the fountain opened for sin and for uncleanness. Grant grace to live and to declare the works of the Lord, and to find that the valley of affliction becomes a door of hope. Lead not into temptation, but deliver from the Evil One, that this heart may know the quietness which Thy pardon brings.
