Beloved of All
Your prayer reflects the heart of true intercession, reaching beyond your own needs to bring another person before God and asking Him to work in her life and in the lives of those around her. That is the kind of praying that is most complete, when we carry others to the Lord and not only ourselves. More is accomplished through that kind of prayer than we will ever see on this side of eternity, for it is the quiet power behind what God does in the world.
God has made His desire known. He desires that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and He has provided salvation only through Jesus Christ. The Scriptures teach that there is one way into relationship with Him, through faith in His Son who died and rose again. For anyone who is not yet His child, the one prayer He is waiting to hear is the cry for mercy, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in Jesus alone to save. Once that relationship is established, the door is opened to communion with the Father in prayer.
Continue in prayer for this woman and for those connected to her, and watch with thanksgiving as you do. Persistence in prayer is not to change God's mind, for His heart is already set toward mercy. Prayer opens the door for God to do what He has long desired to do, in a way that honors the freedom He has given to each person. When our prayers come into harmony with His purpose, which is that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, we will see Him answer. That harmony is where prayer finds its power.
Prayer is not limited by distance or circumstance. You can be far from this woman and still do a real work for her good as you bring her before the Father in the name of Jesus. Prayer is not simply informing God of what He does not know, but aligning our hearts with His will and asking that His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It often begins with worship, moves into earnest petition, and returns again to worship as we trust Him with the outcome.
So be encouraged to keep laboring in prayer. Bring this woman before the Lord often, and bring those in her life as well, asking that if any of them are without Christ, the Lord would draw them to Himself, open their eyes to their need, and grant them repentance and faith in Jesus. Pray with confidence that God hears prayer offered in Jesus name, and pray with thanksgiving, trusting His wisdom and timing.
Join me in praying now. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this woman to You. If she does not yet know You, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself, show her Your love shown at the cross, and grant her salvation through faith in Jesus alone. We lift up also those who are part of her life. If any among them are in need of salvation, we ask that You would work in their hearts, bring them to see their need for a Savior, and bring them into new life in Christ. We ask that You would open doors for the gospel to reach them and give them hearts to respond. We trust this to Your mercy and grace, and we thank You for hearing us when we pray according to Your will. In Jesus name, amen.
