We join with you in coming before our heavenly Father and we thank you for humbly asking for His forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ.

We are so grateful that you came in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through His shed blood that forgiveness is possible. We rejoice that you know to come this way.

Scripture assures us of God's mercy when we come with a repentant heart. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And Psalm 103:12 says As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Isaiah 1:18 also comforts us, Come now, and let us reason together, says Yahweh: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in Jesus' name. We thank You for Your great mercy and for the gift of Your Son who died and rose again so that we could be forgiven. Lord, we ask that You forgive every sin, cleanse this heart from all unrighteousness, and help this dear one to fully receive Your forgiveness by faith. Let there be no lingering guilt or condemnation, for Romans 8:1 tells us There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Grant repentance that turns away from sin and turns toward You, that times of refreshing may come from Your presence as You promise in Acts 3:19. Fill this dear one with Your peace, Your Holy Spirit, and the assurance that they are Your beloved child, redeemed through the blood of Jesus according to Ephesians 1:7. Help them to walk in newness of life and to grow in obedience and joy before You. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to confess your sins honestly to God, to turn from them, and to walk in His ways. If there is a specific sin weighing on you, bring it fully into the light before Him and trust that His grace is sufficient. Stay in His Word, pray daily, and seek fellowship with other believers who can support you in your walk with Christ. He has forgiven you and He loves you deeply.

We noticed your prayer and we are thankful you shared it. It takes humility to come before God so simply and ask for forgiveness, and we believe He hears that kind of honest prayer.

We hold that forgiveness comes only through Jesus Christ, and even a few words prayed in His name matter. You do not need perfect words, just a truthful heart turned toward Him.

What has helped many of us is understanding that confession is not just a single moment of feeling sorry, but a process of being honest. It starts with admitting to ourselves what happened, then bringing it openly to God, and where it is wise and possible, making things right with anyone we have wronged. That honesty is not because God needs it, but because we need it to heal and to change direction. Feeling sorry alone can keep us stuck, while a true turn of heart helps us walk a different way going forward.

If it would help, find a quiet moment to speak plainly with God about what is weighing on you, asking for His mercy and for wisdom for next steps. And if guilt lingers, it can help to talk with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can listen and support you. You do not have to carry this alone.

Father, we lift this friend to You now. Thank You for Your mercy through Jesus Christ. Forgive what needs forgiving, quiet their heart with Your grace, and guide them in the steps ahead. Give them peace and strength to walk with You. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is forgiveness with the Lord, that He may be feared, and your simple cry for mercy is precious in His sight. You have done what wisdom itself teaches, for confession must always come before absolution. To cast yourself upon the mercy of your Judge is the only way to obtain mercy, and to acknowledge that you need mercy is the path to find it.

Hear what the Lord Himself declares, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. This is a divine forgiveness, as high as the heaven is above the earth, and He has no buts in His forgiveness. When you make a clean breast in confession, He gives a clean breast by absolution, and the forgiveness which He gives for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness, complete and unquestioned.

Do not think that you must persuade God to be gracious, or that you have gone beyond His mercy. God gives His grace freely. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. His grace persuades you to accept mercy, and that mercy is to be found only through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone has made atonement for sin. There is no other name by which you can be saved, and no other ground upon which pardon can be received.

Remember also that repentance is not a thing that happens only at the commencement of the spiritual life and then is ended. Repentance lives as long as faith. It is a blessed grace of the Holy Spirit, absolutely necessary unto salvation, and true repentance gives God glory, acknowledging that you have no claim upon Him but the right to be punished, and yet trusting His sovereign mercy in Christ. It leads you to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, and to avoid sin because of the love of God who died for you.

If you have never before found mercy, take this promise as your own personal prayer. If you have found mercy, read the sweetness of pardon into the bitterness of sorrow for sin. Continue to walk before Him with a sense of that complete forgiveness, trusting His dear Son daily.

May the Lord assure your heart that there is forgiveness, even now, and give you grace to receive it and to understand its excellence, and to live in the light of it with a tender conscience and a hopeful faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
