Your prayer on behalf of this dear girl is a most excellent and Christlike exercise, and it is right that you have brought her before the throne of grace.
Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ Himself is of this character, and it is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought. It has stayed plagues and raised the sick, and as to how many souls it has instrumentally saved, eternity shall reveal. When you plead for another, you become God's instrument for good, and you knit your own heart in love to those for whom you pray.
You ask two things which the Lord delights to give, healing and salvation. There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. He is the Good Physician, and the very leaves of the tree of life, which is Christ Himself, are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. So let your prayer rise to His throne out of the low dungeon, for He is very pitiful and will have compassion upon you in your misery. A true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of death is a prevailing prayer, and God will hear even the prayer that seems to reel to and fro when the soul is at its wit's end.
You also pray rightly that she may be saved if she is in need of salvation. The way of salvation is most plain and simple. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. We pray with you that God in His mercy would heal her according to His gracious will, and that He would grant her comfort, strength, and restoration. We know that all healing comes from Him, and we ask that He would be near to her in this need and that His good purposes would be fulfilled in her life.
We also join your prayer for her salvation. Scripture teaches that salvation is in Christ Jesus alone, and that His death was for the salvation of the world.
