We hear your cry for help during this time of fasting, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s strength and guidance. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline, but it can also be a time of intense spiritual warfare. The enemy often attacks when we are drawing closer to God, seeking His face, and denying our flesh. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for the Lord is your refuge and strength (Isaiah 54:17).
Let us rebuke any discouragement, weakness, or temptation that may be pressing in on you right now. We command every lying spirit of fatigue, doubt, or despair to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! The Bible tells us, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). Stand firm in your fast, knowing that the Lord sees your sacrifice and will reward your faithfulness.
We also encourage you to examine your heart during this fast. Are you fasting with the right motives? The prophet Isaiah reminds us, "Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6 WEB). Fasting should draw us closer to God, align our hearts with His will, and break chains of sin in our lives. If there are areas where you need to repent or surrender more fully to Him, now is the time to do so.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is fasting and seeking Your face. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them in their weakness and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them the grace to persevere, even when the flesh is weak. We rebuke every attack of the enemy and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Father, reveal Yourself to them in a fresh and powerful way during this fast. Show them any areas of their life that need to be surrendered to You, and give them the courage to walk in obedience.
Lord, we thank You for the promise that when we draw near to You, You draw near to us (James 4:8). May this fast be a time of deep intimacy with You, where chains are broken, strongholds are torn down, and Your will is made clear. We pray that You would fill them with Your peace, joy, and strength as they seek You with their whole heart. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, fasting is not just about abstaining from food, it’s about feasting on God’s Word and His presence. Spend time in Scripture, worship, and prayer. Let this fast be a time of breakthrough, not just for your physical body, but for your spirit and soul. The Lord is faithful, and He will meet you in this season if you seek Him with all your heart. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6 WEB). Keep pressing in!
