We join you in lifting up the people of Hawaii who are facing the challenges of power outages and the threat of a tropical storm. We recognize the fear and discomfort that such situations can bring, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting in the power and sovereignty of our Lord.
First, we want to affirm the authority in the name of Jesus Christ that you have invoked. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name that we can boldly come before God’s throne of grace. As it is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." We are grateful that you have come before God in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Heavenly Father, we come before You now with hearts full of compassion for the people of Hawaii. Lord, we ask that You would restore power to the ### HECO customers who are without it. We pray that the workers and crews laboring to restore electricity would have strength, wisdom, and protection as they carry out their duties. Grant them favor and efficiency in their work, Lord, so that homes, hospitals, and businesses may be restored to full function quickly. We declare that the power will come on, and that outages will cease, in Jesus’ name.
Father, we also pray against the tropical storm that threatens the islands. We rebuke the storm in the name of Jesus, for You are the One who commands the winds and the waves. We stand on Your Word in Psalm 107:29, "He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still." We declare that this storm will cease permanently and never return, for Your Word says in Job 38:11, "This far you may come, but no farther. Here your proud waves shall be stayed." We trust in Your power to calm the storm and protect the people of Hawaii from harm.
Lord, we ask that You would comfort those who are afraid or anxious during this time. Remind them of Your presence and Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for the safety of those who may be in vulnerable situations, those who rely on medical equipment, the elderly, and families with young children. Provide for their needs, Lord, and surround them with Your protection. We trust in Your provision and care, as You have promised in Matthew 6:31-32, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in Your perfect will and timing, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that Hawaii will experience Your peace, protection, and provision during this time, and we give You all the glory and honor. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
